October 27, 2006 – One year after its creation and a month after the beta version launch, file-sharing website Beta has gained momentum and ranked as the top 100 trafficked websites, according to a Badongo press release yesterday.

The Badongo Beta, a free high capacity file-sharing host, enters a highly competitive market of other free photo-sharing sites. Badongo, however, can host all types of files, including video and music.

"It’s not just photos; it’s video, business presentations," said Badongo media spokesperson Ben Cooke in an interview with "It’s for backing up entire hard drives on the go," Cooke said.

More significantly, Badongo can handle an unlimited number of files, each at 1GB with promises for high speed downloads in minutes.

With over 1 million worldwide visitors each day, according to the release, the file-sharing site has had favorable results particularly in Asia, although Badongo has made a recent push to expand to English-speaking markets.

"It’s better than YouTube in Asia, but nobody knows it here," said Cooke.

The latest launch of the Badongo Beta includes a photo album feature, Flash Slideshow, and Badongo Buddy, a Windows-based drag-and-drop feature that transfers files from a desktop to a Badongo account. The site also has a file link "widget" for direct links on MySpace accounts.

In addition to free accounts, A premium version of Badongo is available for $5.99 a month for multiple, faster uploads.

Badongo plans to release more updates with continuing user feedback, said Cooke.
