June 07, 2006 - Fujifilm has announced the release of new custom-made "Aquamask" housing for their entry level point-and-shoot 4 MP A400 and 5 MP A500. The waterproof housing will provide photographers with the ability to capture images at depths of up to ten feet. This housing will also be useful in protecting cameras from dirt, sand, and dust.

"Whether swimming at the pool or beach, boating, or hiking with the kids, the colorful Aquamask is an all-terrain imaging tool. It’s a great investment to keep your digital camera safe and ensure you don’t miss capturing any of those fun summer activities," stated James Avato, the Marketing Manager for the Electronic Imaging Division at Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. As Avato hints, the Aquamask flaunts light green plastic accents in its clear plastic composite case.

Fujifilm’s Aquamask is priced at $79.99 and will be available at the beginning of June 2006. Many other manufacturers currently have underwater housings available for their point and shoot cameras as well, but they list for nearly twice the price and many are only able to reach depths of 9.8 feet.

Further information on the Aquamask can be found at: http://fujifilm.com.
