September 22, 2005 – FinePix S3 Pro owners, find the AC adaptor and format your cards because Fujifilm released a firmware upgrade yesterday. The version 2.18 firmware updates the camera to enable adjustment of the sharpness of JPEG images in the PC control mode. The upgrade will also augment changes made in previous versions.

Those previous adjustments include improving the color accuracy of Nikon flash units while shooting in slow shutter speeds, updating the custom white balance mode and exposure control function on the PC control mode, updating the automatic rotation function, improving communication between the camera and Nikon AF-S and AF-VR lenses, and updating for higher capacity storage cards.

The Fujifilm FinePix S3 Pro offers consumers 6.17 megapixels and impressive dynamic range. The digital SLR was released in November 2004 and is on its fourth firmware upgrade.
