December 14, 2005 – Without disclosing financial details, Hewlett Packard has announced that it will be acquiring BilderService.de, which owns the online photo service company Pixaco.
Pixaco offers online photo printing services and photo novelty products throughout Europe, Scandinavia and the UK, and complements HP’s purchase of the US-based online photo company Snapfish earlier this year.
The Pixaco acquisition is another addition in a series of continuous financial improvements to HP since CEO Mark Hurd assumed his position in early 2005. The Pixaco announcement was made in conjunction with Hurd’s new financial plan for Hewlett Packard which emphasizes the high-end digital imaging and printing market. It also falls on the heels of HP’s release of Halo, the revolutionary Orwellian video conferencing studio.
