***November 21, 2006* – Makers of the gorillapod have now released a flexible, lightweight tripod for SLRs with zoom lenses.Retailing for $49.95, the gorillapod SLR-Zoom can reportedly support an SLR or camcorder weighing more than 6 pounds.

The California-based company launched the gorillapod for compact cameras last year at a retail price of $21.95 and then released the gorillapod SLR for $39.95.  With three flexible legs, the moveable tripod can be attached to poles, rocks, and any steady surface."The Joby Gorillapod firmly secures your camera to just about anything and anywhere," states the Joby website.

The new gorillapod SLR-Zoom weighs only 8.5 ounces, making it an accessory for travelers, allowing the users to take self-portraits without the use a self timer or one-handed shots.

Joby’s gorillapod SLR-Zoom is available at retailers and online at http://www.joby.com/index.html.  More information on the gorillapod for compact cameras is available at https://reviewed.usatoday.com/cameras/content/Intro202-Announces-Gorillapod-for-Compact-Digital-Cameras-.htm.
