Las Vegas, Nevada, March 8, 2007 – In addition to the Leica 300mm zoom lens announced earlier this week, Leica Camera and Panasonic unveiled a prototype of the Leica D Vario-Elmar 14-150mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH lens for the interchangeable four thirds system this week at PMA. With an equivalent 28-300mm focal range (in 35mm format), the jointly developed lens features Panasonic’s optical image stabilization. Leica Camera and Panasonic also displayed the Leica D Summilux 25mm f/1.4 ASPH lens (35mm equivalent: 50mm). It is the second interchangeable lens offered by Leica that is for the Four Thirds System, according to the press release. The lens includes an aperture ring and 10 elements in 9 groups.
