*July 18, 2006 – *Today, Lexar Media, Inc. announced their newest compact memory card, the 133x Professional 8GB CompactFlash.

Following the 4GB 133x speed and 8GB 40x speed cards, the new flash card combines the best of both cards, surpassing storage capabilities and write speeds of the older products. The 8GB 133x speed compact flash card has a write speed of 20MB per second.

Geared towards professional photographers, the card is designed to process RAW format files quickly, according to Lexar’s press release. The flash card, which is compatible with Type I flash memory formats of the more popular DSLRs, allows users to keep shooting without changing cards often, ensuring an uninterrupted workflow.

Like all of Lexar’s Pro flash cards, the 8GB 133x card comes with Image Rescue 2.0 recovery software and Paint Shop Pro 9 for editing images.

The suggested retail price is $424.99 and will be available in August.
