Japanese firm Itochu has parented with the US based Holochip to develop polymer lens (APL) for digital cameras. These lenses instead of glass would use non-alcoholic liquids, which would make the lenses smaller and more powerful optically. The lenses would remain operational from -20 to +60ºC and would first be available in Asia.
