*August 24, 2006 – *Nikon Corp., in conjunction with Clothes Show Live 2006, announced last week the Educational Bursary Young Fashion Photographer of the Year Competition. The winner, someone who can embody the glamour of the fashion world through photography, will receive £2000 (equivalent to $3779), according to last Friday’s Nikon UK press release.

The contest is the first Nikon fashion photo competition in the UK, according to the release. Entrants must be UK residents, ranging from 16 – 25 years-old. A winner will be selected based on how well they can "capture the spirit of the glamorous world of Fashion Photography," stated the release. Applicants do not have to travel to do so; photos can even be taken on the front porch.

In addition to having the winning photograph displayed at the Clothes Show December fashion show in Birmingham, UK, the Young Fashion Photographer winner will receive £2000 prize money, £1000 worth of Nikon equipment, a week with a top photographer, and a VIP lunch.

Twelve finalists will be selected. The deadline for the contest is October 27. Contestants can apply at www.clotheshowlive.com.
