December 14, 2004* – Attention digital SLR consumers: the Nikon D2H just got a price slash. The 4.1-megapixel digital SLR usually retails for about $3,000. However, prices fell yesterday to $1,999.95 at several online locations.

The D2H is best known for its speed. It can shoot 8 frames per second for up to 40 consecutive JPEG images at full 2464 x 1632 resolution. The camera also sports a versatile shutter speed range at 30 – 1/8000th of a second and a wide ISO range from 200 – 1600, with 2 HI ISO extensions beyond that. The 2.5-inch LCD display with 211,200 pixels is definitely an upgrade from the D1H’s 2-inch screen with 130,000 pixels.
