June 27, 2006 –* Nikon USA recently released results evaluating the compatibility of Nikon software with Intel-based Macintosh computers. Among other discrepancies, Nikon Capture was found incompatible with Intel-based Macs.

"Nikon Capture version 4.2 and later cannot be used due to the installation termination before completion," according to the Nikon support webpage. Capture versions 3.5.0 – 4.1.3 are also not guaranteed to support Intel-based Macs. Nikon does have a workaround program for Capture version 4.4.

During testing, Nikon also found that Nikon View version 6.2.7, Nikon Scan 4, and Camera Control Pro 1.0 do not operate with Intel-based Macs. Picture Project version 1.6.3 is compatible, although earlier versions result in USB transfer errors.

No compatibility problems existed with the Coolpix remote control, Nix Color Efex, or the wireless camera setup or wireless connecting utilities.
