North Light images have posted an in-depth analysis of the X-Rite ColorMunki Photo however caution that their findings are not based on the final production software. For the uninitiated, ColorMunki Photo is an integrated, versatile solution that calibrates displays, projectors and printers, measures ambient light and captures spot colors.
On calibrating several monitors with the ColorMunki, the reviewer found the profiles to be fine and even the printer profiling produced was very usable results. In the end ColorMunki does manage to impress even though it’s not the ideal solution for exhibition display.
In the end the reviewer concludes:
"One (minor) personal concern that I do have, is that with the large market this product is aimed at, then an awful lot of clueless reviewers (both in print and on the web) are going to be writing about a subject they know next to nothing about."
