February 2, 2005 — Operation Photo isn’t operating like its founder had hoped, but it’s building momentum. Founder Mitch Goldstone vowed to raise 10,000 digital cameras for U.S. military families by Valentine’s Day, however, during the third week of January, the count was only to 255. Today, Kodak announced it will donate 100 Kodak EasyShare CX6330s and Olympus announced it will donate 50 digital cameras.

Operation Photo is receiving three times as many requests for cameras as it is receiving digital cameras. Goldstone is still aiming for his goal of 10,000 digital cameras and is even extending his plea to manufacturers of memory cards and accessories.
