Panasonic Announces 16 GB Pro SDHC Card

**Sept. 7, 2007* – Panasonic last week introduced the 16 GB Pro High Speed Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) memory card. The new SDHC memory card will retail for $319.99 when it is released worldwide in November.

"As more and more people become engaged in the High Definition lifestyle, there is a growing demand for recording High Definition video and high resolution digital still images," said Panasonic National Marketing Manager Zoe Susice in an Aug. 30 press release.

The Panasonic 16 GB SDHC card (product number RP-SDV16GU1K) is targeted toward photographers who shoot large files and videographers. The 16 GB Pro SDHC sits at the top of the Panasonic Pro product line, with other available cards in storage capacities of 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB, and 8 GB. The card can capture approximately 6,160 photos at 10 megapixels or record up to 160 minutes of high definition MPEG-4 video in Fine mode, according to the company website.

With a Class 6 classification, the Panasonic 16 GB Pro has a data transfer rate of 20 MB per second.
