Pentax To Unveil 3 New DSLR Lenses at PMA

    In a press release Pentax announced its plans to exhibit 3 digital-SLR-exclusive interchangeable lenses at the PMA 2008 and Photo Imaging Expo 2008 that is to be held from March 19 to 22 at Tokyo Big Sight in Japan.
The 3 lenses are still under-development and are tentatively titled smc PENTAX-DA 55mm F1.4 SDM, smc PENTAX-DA 60-250mm F4 ED [IF] SDM and smc PENTAX-DA 17-70mm F4 [IF] SDM. For quick over-view of the lenses click the more link.
Product name ( tentative ) : smc PENTAX-DA 55mm F1.4 SDM
- A uni-focal moderate-telephoto lens offering a focal length equivalent to 84.5mm in the 35mm format 
- A large F1.4 maximum aperture to produce beautiful out-of-focus backgrounds 
- SDM system to assure super-quiet, extra-smooth autofocus operation 
- Marketing date to be announced later 
Product name ( tentative ) : smc PENTAX-DA 60-250mm F4 ED [IF] SDM
- A telephoto zoom lens covering moderate- to super-telephoto ranges, with focal lengths equivalent to 92mm to 383mm in the 35mm format 
- SDM system to assure super-quiet, extra-smooth autofocus operation 
- Scheduled to be marketed in summer 2008 
2. Standard zoom lens designed exclusively for PENTAX digital SLR cameras :
Product name ( tentative ) : smc PENTAX-DA 17-70mm F4 [IF] SDM
- A moderate-telephoto zoom lens offering a 4.1-times zoom ratio and focal lengths equivalent to 26mm to 107mm in the 35mm format 
- SDM system to assure super-quiet, extra-smooth autofocus operation 
- Scheduled to be marketed in summer 2008
