September 7, 2006 – Today, Pentax Imaging Co., Japan released two new firmware updates to their DSLR models. Pentax released new SDHC support for **ist DS v2.01 and a general update for the **ist DL v1.02.

The Pentax **ist DS update is now compatible with SDHC memory cards and still compatible with SD cards as high as 1GB, according to the Pentax website. Version 2.01 adds a series of features included in menus options, including a continuous AF mode in the Record menu, auto sensitivity in the Sensitivity mode, and AE-L button added in the Custom menu. Other key features include a new sample picture for picture mode on the LCD display and added languages of Dutch and Swedish. The Pentax website does not have details on the changes made with the **ist DL firmware update. The **ist DL v1.02 is available at http://www.digital.pentax.co.jp/ja/info/20060907e1.html.
