*June 19, 2006 – Picture Code released a beta version of an impending Noise Ninja update on Friday. The noise and grain reduction software program released candidates of the standalone (Noise Ninja 2.1.1) and Photoshop plug-in versions (v2.1.3) for Mac Intel, Mac PowerPC, Windows, and Linux. The update will correct a bug in the noise brush tool that caused brush mask corruption.

'Aside from the new platform support, this is a minor update to Noise Ninja,' says a June 16th Picture Code press release.

'These are release candidates, meaning that we believe they are stable and working as intended, and they will be promoted to official release status as soon as we receive sufficient feedback from users,' according to Picture Code.

For pictures taken in low light situations, Noise Ninja offers a two-stop compensation on digital photos and scanned film. Noise Ninja also enhances low-ISO images, particularly for photo enlargements.

Noise Ninja is used by seven of the 10 largest newspapers in the U.S., according to Picture Code. The price of the standalone Noise Ninja is $34.95. The cost of the Pro Bundle is $79.95. The free beta version is available for download at: http://www.picturecode.com/nn_beta.htm.
