December 6, 2005 -* According to Reuters, China's Economic Daily News is reporting that both Samsung and LG are cutting deals with three Taiwanese manufacturers to supply panels for their LCDs. Chi Mei Optoelectronics Corp. (CMT) supply panels for LCD monitors, while AU Optronics Corp (AUO) and Chunghwa Picture Tubes Ltd. (CPT) supply panels for both LCD monitors and TVs. They already supply to Dell and Hewlett-Packard.

While Samsung and LG will each continue to manufacture 70% of their LCD panels, this deal will assist in quenching the overall rise in thirst for LCD products.

In late November of this year, Samsung unveiled the world's largest TV-quality flexible LCD display (7 inches diagonal) which they expect to implement into product lines by 2007.
