November 13, 2006* – Mobile motion sensor provider InvenSense announced last week that Sanyo will use InvenSense gyroscopes for image stabilization in next year’s digital camera models.

"Image stabilization is becoming one of the most sought-after features by consumers when purchasing a camera," stated a Nov. 9th InvenSense press release. With point-and-shoots becoming lighter, coupled with longer zoom lenses, image stabilization is quickly becoming a standard.

With the InvenSense IDG-1000 gyroscope, Sanyo will add image stabilization to its next generation of digital cameras, as early as next year, according to the release.
