Planning to get your hands on the Sony Alpha 700 (α700) Digital SLR camera this season? Then try participating in the Sony Alpha Unseen Britain campaign where winning entries will receive the a700 DSLR kit. The closing date for entries is January 4 2008 and the challenge is to capture Britain creatively and differently. Sony has launched the competition in partnership with the UK publication Guardian and hence the winning entries will be published in the Guardian unlimited website.

To make things interesting, Sony has also commissioned photographer and climber Mike Robertson to capture structures like  Spinnaker Tower (Portsmouth), Blackpool Tower, Newport Transporter Bridge, Snowhill Plaza (Birmingham) and a London site. For more details go here.

Paul Genge from Sony says: 'We want individuals to be inspired and think about photography with a different perspective and encourage them to enter our competition.'
