Sept. 21, 2007* – Sony last week announced pricing for the new 300x speed CompactFlash card that promises faster processing times. The 8GB CF card (NCFD8G) has a price tag of $199.99, and the 4GB CF card (NCFD4G) is priced at $119.99. The cards will ship this month.

Sony earlier this month introduced the 300x high-speed CF cards to complement its newest DSLR, the Alpha DSLR-A700.

"DSLR cameras are enabling photographers to broaden their skills and capture higher-resolution images, and memory cards need to be able to keep pace with these developments," said Shane Higby, director of marketing for consumer media at Sony Electronics, in a Sept. 10 company press release. "With their increased processing and response times, these new cards are the perfect tool for serious photographers who can’t afford to miss a single shot.'

The new Sony CF cards surpass its current line of 66x and 133x memory cards. Other memory card manufacturers also offer 300x speed CF cards, including Lexar and ATP in 2 GB, 4 GB, and 8 GB storage capacities.
