November 2, 2005 - Marketing research firm InfoTrends/CAP Ventures released a survey revealing that 29 percent of US Internet users also use an online photo service, up 12 percent from 2004. According to the report, retail online photo services, like those through Wal-Mart, are currently unpopular with less than one-sixth of the market share. But they are likely to gain ground, because users order twice as many prints from them per month than they do from purely dot-com institutions like Kodak’s EasyShare One Gallery, where users are more concerned with sharing digital photos than they are with printing them out.
Also according to the report, online photofinishing is considered superior to retail or at-home printing, in terms of ease, speed, and quality.
