September 1, 2006 – England-based software company ViewMinder Ltd. announced on Wednesday an update to their image management program, Expert ViewMinder version 3.10.
The Windows-compatible program can sort thousands of JPEG, TIFF, PNG, and BMP images up to 20MB each, according to the ViewMinder website. The updated ViewMinder 3.10 includes features geared for news photographers, according to Wednesday’s ViewMinder release. The program has new headings - People, Locations, and Events - to sort through photos based on those categories with its "unique relationship database," stated the release.
The program also has a "space-saving screen layout," in which a single enlarged preview image is surrounded by smaller thumbnails on the same screen.
A free trial version of Genus ViewMinder is available at http://www.viewminder.com/features.htm. Genus ViewMinder has an image limit of 250 photos. Expert ViewMinder retails for $64.95.
