Most wireless surround sound systems force you to buy everything at once or commit to a fixed configuration. The LG Sound Suite doesn't. It's modular, meaning every piece has a specific job, and you add them on your own timeline.
The H7 soundbar is the anchor of LG’s setup. It works standalone, but it's built to be the center of something larger. The other speakers connect to it without a receiver, wiring runs, or the need to reconfigure anything you've already set up. Just add the next piece whenever you're ready.
The soundbar is the foundation
LG Sound Suite H7 Soundbar—the non-negotiable
Best for: Getting your setup started
Unlocks Dolby Atmos FlexConnect? No, it's a standalone unit that makes those connections possible
Notable specs: 9.1.6 channels, 12 Peerless drivers, 4 woofers, 8 passive radiators, α11 AI Processor Gen 3, AI Room Calibration Pro, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, eARC
Price: $999.99
Basically, the only non-negotiable element in the Sound suite is the H7 soundbar, but don't let that framing undersell it. On its own, it's a genuinely impressive soundbar: 9.1.6 channels—meaning sound comes at you from nine directions, plus one overhead and six height layers–12 drivers, and 8 passive radiators for deep, distortion-free bass. It's also where the α11 AI Processor Gen 3 and it runs AI Room Calibration Pro, which is what enables Dolby Atmos FlexConnect across the rest of the system.
There is one caveat, though: the H7 currently requires you to connect a physical HDMI cable to your TV. Wireless support is coming in 2026, but only for LG C5 and G5 owners. If you're thinking about how the H7 fits into a larger room setup, our home theater guide is a good place to start.

LG Sound Suite M7 Wireless Spatial Speaker—start here
Best for: Unlocking Dolby Atmos FlexConnect — one speaker is all it takes
Unlocks Dolby Atmos FlexConnect: Yes
Notable specs: 3 full-range Peerless drivers (1.5"), 1 x 4" Peerless woofer, up-firing driver for 3D audio, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, α11 AI Processor Gen 3 (when paired with H7)
Price: $399.99
A single M7 is all it takes to activate Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, which is the feature that really sets this system apart from every other wireless surround sound system on the market. If you're adding one thing to the H7, make it this.
Place the M7 anywhere in the room, and the H7 uses its built-in microphones to detect exactly where it is, then recalibrates the entire soundfield automatically. Sound is steered and balanced based on speaker positions, not a fixed layout. There’s no sweet spot to find and no manual adjustments. On its own, the M7 is still a great speaker. It has three full-range drivers and a Peerless woofer, as well as built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, and Google Cast. You can add a second speaker for true stereo surround, place it anywhere, and FlexConnect handles the rest.

LG Sound Suite M5 Wireless Speaker—the flexible alternative
Best for: Expanding an already-started system
Unlocks Dolby Atmos FlexConnect: Yes — but only with two speakers
Notable specs: Dual tweeters, 3" woofer, Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2, Google Cast
Price: $249.99
The M5 is cheaper per unit than the M7, but it takes two to unlock FlexConnect. It’s $500 for the pair versus $400 for a single M7, so the math favors starting with the M7. That's not a knock on the M5; it's just the wrong place to begin.
Where it earns its spot is in a system that's already running. The Sound Suite supports up to four speakers in any combination, and M5s slot in alongside M7s without friction. Think of it as the right second or third purchase.

LG Sound Suite W7 Wireless Subwoofer—the finishing touch
Best for: Completing the system
Unlocks Dolby Atmos FlexConnect: Not required
Notable specs: 8" wireless subwoofer, vertical or horizontal placement, LG ThinQ app control
Price: $599.99
The H7 handles bass well for a soundbar, but there's a ceiling, and the W7 removes it. Add this piece last, after you've lived with the system for a while and want to improve the bass. It places vertically or horizontally, connects wirelessly, and is managed through the H7 via the LG ThinQ app. It feels like a natural extension of the system, not a generic add-on.

The only wrong move is skipping the H7; everything else is flexible. But the single most impactful first step is the H7 paired with one M7. That combination unlocks Dolby Atmos FlexConnect and transforms how your room sounds for less than a traditional wireless surround sound system would cost.
