Many of the specs we reported earlier were right on the money, but to nobody's surprise my translation of images on the V-Moda Hong Kong Facebook page didn't tell the whole story. In addition to sporting dual Digital to Analog Converter chips (DAC) from Burr-Brown and AKM, the amp has dedicated hardware for both iOS devices and USB devices, allowing the unit to be used with a huge range of mobile devices.
Because it can use a standard microUSB input, that means that your computer should have no trouble making use of the amp as well, so the Verza isn't simply chained to your smartphone. If you're comfortable taking your expensive headphones around with you, the spec sheet certainly is impressive: The Verza will juice just about anything you hook into them (minus electrostatic headphones).

Hard specs include: —150mW per channel output —2200mAh dedicated battery (larger than that of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus by about 22%) —Variable gain switch —3 audio modes —>90dB signal to noise ratio —0.5% THD —3.5mm analog, and SPDIF (optical) output —Powers headphones with impedances of 32ohm and up —Huge list of compatible devices
If you're looking to plunk down $598USD, you can grab this slick-looking DAC/Amp combo for your power-hungry headphones. While it may seem like a hefty price to pay for your smartphone's audio performance, this piece of equipment is designed to replace all of your headphone amp/DAC equipment at home too if you aren't using enormously power-hungry headphones. Taking that into consideration, the price is a lot more reasonable when you consider that accumulating all the different parts necessary usually runs from $400USD and up, so the ability to use the same stuff at home and on the go is a bonus that isn't much more expensive than you'd likely pay anyway.
If you're interested in buying the Verza, you can find more information about it on the V-Moda webpage. If you do buy it, be sure to register your product, as it comes with a one year warranty.
