About the NordicTrack Commercial 1750

The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 offers great running specs.

The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 is the brand’s most popular treadmill, and it’s been our best overall pick for years. Its speed ranges from 0.5 miles per hour (mph) to 12 mph, while its incline reaches up to 12% and down to -3%—it’s one of the few treadmills we’ve tested that goes downhill.

Its belt is 20 inches wide and 60 inches long—about average for a mid-size treadmill—while the frame overall comes to 80 inches long, 38 inches wide, and 65 inches tall. Like many other treadmills we’ve tested, the deck folds up to save floor space when not in use.

The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 is a connected treadmill, meaning it has a touchscreen on which you can stream exercise classes from iFit, NordicTrack’s workout programming platform. The 1750’s 14-inch HD touchscreen screen tilts for more comfortable viewing and swivels so you can take off-tread classes like yoga or strength training.

The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 is roomy and comfortable to run on.

It’s wonderful to run on

The NordicTrack Commercial is one of my favorite treadmills to run on. Its deck and frame are spacious enough that I don’t feel cramped or confined. And the belt strikes a balance between firmness and springiness that doesn’t irritate my joints or feet. My joints feel protected and cushioned, even during sprints, but I don’t feel like I’m rebounding off the running surface.

The quick adjust buttons are easy to use, and the motor is responsive, taking just a few moments to alter speeds and inclines. This makes it quick and easy to set my speed and incline when I don’t want to use iFit’s auto-follow function to keep pace with my trainer.

iFit offers endless treadmill programming

iFit provides some of the best running and walking sessions we’ve tested, and it’s always adding new classes. The instructors are all engaging, and iFit offers a range of courses, from hikes through mountains to beachside interval work.

You can use the auto-follow setting to match your instructor’s pace and incline—no fiddling with buttons or dials—or turn it off and run to your own beat while listening to your instructor chat and enjoying the scenery.

It’s easy to use for off-treadmill classes

In addition to running and walking workouts, iFit offers yoga, strength training, and more. Many are also filmed in front of gorgeous scenery to elevate your workout experience, though many strength classes are filmed in a gym or studio, understandably. You get the same great instruction from iFit’s coaches, and like the running workouts, there’s an abundance of sessions to choose from that vary in length and difficulty.

The 1750’s 14-inch screen is easy to see, and the display adjusts smoothly as you swivel it to your liking, making it much easier to take off-treadmill classes.

It’s quiet

The 1750 is a quiet treadmill—I didn’t experience any squeaking or stirring during testing. It stays near silent when adjusting between speeds and inclines, and the motor doesn’t get too noisy while in use.

What we don’t like about the NordicTrack Commercial 1750

I experienced occasional issues with the deck upon startup.

The deck doesn’t always start smoothly

The deck of the 1750 is prone to jumpiness upon starting up. During a few sessions, as the deck started up, it felt like it wasn’t moving at a consistent speed. It smoothed out after the first 30 seconds, but the initial sensation under my feet left me worried I would trip up.

Warranty

The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 has one of the better warranties we've seen.

The Commercial 1750 has one of the better warranties of the treadmills we tested, with 10 years for the frame, two years for parts, and one year for labor. You can purchase a three-year extended warranty for $180, which adds three years to the parts and labor coverage.

A three-year maintenance plan is also available for $340. The plan extends the warranties on the parts and labor to three years each and includes an annual 15-point maintenance check upon request.

Should you buy the NordicTrack Commercial 1750?

The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 remains one of the best treadmills we've ever tested.

Yes, runners of all experience levels will love this treadmill

There’s a reason the Commercial 1750 is one of NordicTrack’s top sellers—actually, there are a few. It strikes an excellent balance between bounce and firmness, has a wide range of speed and incline levels, and provides a roomy feel without taking up too much space. On top of that, iFit offers excellent workout programming—it’s a clear why the 1750 remains my favorite treadmill I’ve tested year after year.

That said, not everyone wants—or can afford—a connected treadmill. If you’re looking for something a little more bare bones, the Sole F63 is an excellent choice that has a high-quality build for a far lower price. But for a top-notch machine with motivation from iFit, you can't go wrong with the NordicTrack Commercial 1750.
