Toilet paper is one of those things you probably don’t think about much already (unless of course you’re having the age-old “over or under” debate). And now, thanks to Charmin, you may have to think about it—and buy it—even less.

Meet the Forever Roll, a giant roll of toilet paper that won’t actually last forever but will last for about two to three months, a Procter & Gamble representative told the Wall Street Journal. With the starter kit, you’ll get three rolls (each the equivalent of 24 regular rolls of toilet paper) plus a free stand specially designed to hold all that extra weight.

The Forever Roll is likely designed for the growing number of people who live alone (aka millennials and seniors) and who may not have much storage space. Currently, it’s only available on Charmin’s website and comes in two sizes: the 12-inch multi-user roll for $29.97 or the 8.7-inch single-user roll for $16.47.

But while Charmin claims that its new product is a space-saver, our emerging categories writer, Sara Hendricks, argues otherwise, explaining that most bathrooms—particularly in apartments—aren’t equipped to handle such a large roll. “I'd say that if you have the room and really hate buying toilet paper, go for it. Otherwise, it's probably easier to buy in bulk and switch out when you have to.”

And if you are a small-roll devotee, our experts recommend Charmin Ultra Soft, which, after thorough testing, was deemed the best toilet paper of 2019 because of its comfort and durability.
