Black Friday and Cyber Monday might be best known for cheap TVs and tech gadgets—but appliance retailers are now in on the action, and that’s good news for consumers.

From French door fridges under $1,000 to $500 front-load washers, it’s a good time of year to think about replacing a worn-out appliance that’s on its last legs, or to plan a remodel. In fact, I redid my own kitchen last November thanks to some incredible deals I found at some national chains.

Our experts have tested thousands of appliances in our Cambridge, MA labs to tell you if they’re any good at their jobs. Now, it’s my turn as appliances editor to pick some particularly good values—major appliances that have had major markdowns beyond usual sale pricing.

Ignore the “40% off!” hype splashed across retailers’ webpages. After all, most appliances are on sale most of the time. These are my picks for especially good deals on good products—and the best home appliance values you can buy.

Cooking

The best deals on cooking appliances this Black Friday come from Samsung and Whirlpool, though a few models from GE and Frigidaire also qualify.

Samsung NE58K9430SS Electric Range

Product image of Samsung NE58K9430SS

We’re fans of Samsung's ranges—the company took top ranks in our Best of Year for gas and electric ranges.

In addition to good performance, we like Samsung’s aesthetic—its high-end ranges like this put controls at the front and angle them towards the user.

The similar Samsung NE58F9710WS/AA is on sale for $1,699—but adds the Flex Duo system, which is also unique to Samsung. It lets users easily turn one oven into two, so home cooks can fit a turkey at Thanksgiving, but have two ovens for baking a side dish and dessert at different temperatures the same time.

Whirlpool WFE515S0ES Electric Range

We also like Whirlpool, especially for low-cost cooking appliances. They’re sleek, made in the U.S., and offer a service network from a trusted brand. They also come in multiple finishes—including bisque—so you can replace your range without updating all your appliances to match.

In fact, I put a WFE515S0ES electric range in my own kitchen last November—and was proud to pay the same $448 sale price that you can buy it for now. Normal sale prices are closer to $500.

Other Choices

GE, LG, and Samsung all have similarly priced entry-level ranges—some of which we’ve also tested and have good words for. Models we’ve listed from Kenmore and Frigidaire may cost a little more—but they’re the least-expensive ranges we’ve ever seen that include convection baking.

Refrigerators

LG, Samsung, and Whirlpool are in a French door price war. That might be bad news for them—but it’s good news for consumers who want to update their kitchens with the most popular style out there.

Samsung RF260BEAESR

Product image of Samsung RF260BEAESR

For $999, you have your pick of three great refrigerators that usually go for closer to $1,200—even on sale. Our 2016 Best Fridge for the Money was the RF260BEAESR, which excelled in our lab tests and gets rave reviews from owners.

Similarly, the Whirlpool WRF535SMBM 24.8 cu. ft. model gets great user reviews, and it’s also one of our top-ranked budget models. We like its sleek exterior and even cooling

Though they both sell for the same price, we haven’t tested the LG LFCS25426S, and there are no user reviews to speak of the reliability of the brand new fridge. We also haven’t tested the Kenmore 70413.

Other Choices

When it comes to side-by-side fridges, I like the Amana ASD2575BRS—a more basic version of our top budget pick Whirlpool WRS325FDAM. The Amana sells for just $798 in stainless steel.

For a basic top-freezer, my choice is the stainless steel GE GTS16GSHSS. While its sale price may be listed as $679 at Home Depot, it drops to $548 once you put it in your shopping cart.

Washers and Dryers

Discounts on washers and dryers aren’t as deep as on other categories of appliances—but I found one pair that’s worth a look. Otherwise, it still might be worth buying a washer and dryer pair from a retailer that offers additional bonus savings the more products you buy.

LG WM3270CW Washer and DLE3170W Dryer

Product image of LG WM3270CW

Even though we haven’t tested the WM3270CW, it’s very similar to many other excellent front-load LG machines we’ve seen in our labs, so I feel comfortable recommending it. At $499, it’s an incredible deal—especially if you’re getting the matching LG DLE3170W dryer.

On sale, you can get the pair for under $1,000, which is about as inexpensive as front-load stacking pairs come.

Dishwashers

While none of our top-ranked Bosch dishwashers are on sale—the German company just doesn’t play that way—some of the best inexpensive machines on the market are now more affordable than ever. In fact, I think this is the only time of year you can buy a decent dishwasher for under $300.

Whirlpool WDF560SAFM

Product image of Whirlpool WDF560SAFM

Our Best Dishwasher for the Money for 2016 usually sells for $450 on sale.

But the similar WDF560SAFM—which is actually slightly quieter—just dropped to an astounding $398 at Home Depot. For once, I recommend deviating from our Best of Year pick.

If all you want is a basic machine, the WDF520PADM is a great deal at $298. But for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it’s even more of an amazing deal for just $275 at Sears.

One thing to note: This dishwasher is so inexpensive it doesn’t qualify for free delivery. If you can’t take it home with you, a pricier dishwasher may be a better value.
