We don't get to use phrases like "long-awaited" too often in the appliance space, but here goes: Samsung's long-awaited lineup of top-load washing machines equipped with "activewash" has arrived in stores.
Activewash models feature a built-in basin directly above the drum. This 1 cu. ft., tempered glass basin can be filled with water via an adjacent spout, and the sides are ribbed like an old washboard. It features all the convenience of a nearby sink, but with a clever, space-saving design.
Use the activewash to pre-treat stains, then simply lift up the glass basin to drop your wet, pre-treated laundry directly into the drum. Easy.
Since we're like special washing machine insiders, we've already tried out an activewash, and you can read Jon's first impressions right here. Spoiler alert: It's just as convenient as it sounds.
On the downside, you'll have to shell out at least $900 for the 4.8-cu.-ft. WA48J7770AW in white, or as much as $1,200 for the 5.2-cu.-ft. WA52J8700AP in graphite.
