Prime Day 2021 keeps inching closer and close, with Monday, June 21 and Tuesday, June 22, only days away. While Prime members are undoubtedly itching to see the plethora of deals that Amazon will have for them next week, some savings just can’t be contained. If you’re looking to bring your home sound system into the 21st century, you'll want to check out this early Prime Day deal that offers two new Echo Dot smart speakers for just under $50.

Prime members can use coupon code PDDOT2K to get these fourth-generation speakers for $49.98. That's a 50% discount from the usual $99.98 you'd pay for two of these gadgets.

This deal is even more appealing considering how good these particular Echo speakers are. When we tested the new Echo Dot, we loved its minimalistic, orb-like design. Though it doesn’t have the sound quality of competitors like the Bose Home 300 ($199), which is our favorite smart speaker, it allowed for a decent listening experience, which is saying a lot for a machine that's barely larger than a baseball.

That small size, as well as the placement of the speaker’s light ring at the bottom of the orb’s flat base, does make notifications harder to see, meaning it might be hard to know when you have one or if the microphone is muted. Still, its a great entry-level speaker overall.

Two full-sized Echo smart speakers, meanwhile, drop by additional $80 off the combined price of $199.98 when you use the code ECHOPRIME to get them for $119.98. While visually similar, they've got the addition of a Zigbee hub for extremely simple setup.

If you’re a Prime customer looking to make your home all the smarter for upgrades, we don't think you can go wrong with either of these choices. Grab them before the savings fade out!
