For many, style and beauty became about leisurewear and no-makeup days due to staying at home the past few years. During 2022, as returning to work offices became more common, the desire for wardrobe staples and efficient hair tools came back into the picture.
At Reviewed, our testers never stopped seeking out the best style and beauty picks, from undergarments and winter boots to hair dryers and beard trimmers. With our expert testing in mind, allow us to guide you through refreshing your closet and primping routine.

The best men’s boxer briefs we tested in 2022 are the premium ExOfficio Give-N-Go 2.0 after our tester decided they would recommend them to any person on the planet. The soft, durable, odor-free, and stay-put underwear offers a stellar fit for all-day wear thanks to the highly breathable, stretchy mesh fabric. During our laundry tests at Reviewed’s lab in which we machine-washed and tumble-dried all the pairs (because that's what most people would do), we found that these boxer briefs shrank the least of any other we tested, despite care instructions telling us to line-dry. After testing 54 pairs of women’s undergarments, it became evident that American Eagle’s sister brand Aerie reigns as the champion of women’s underwear undies across all style categories from panties to briefs to thongs. The seamless boybrief impresses with its full coverage support and buttery soft modal, nylon, and elastane blend. Its cotton boybrief makes that pair out of super-soft cotton—not the scratchy stuff of other brands—that stays in place with no bunch or rolling. The brand has so many options for fabrics, styles, and materials, you’ll find one that suits your preferences. No matter what style of underwear you lean toward, Aerie won’t do you wrong. There’s no better time to prepare for those new year’s resolutions than now. Before you hit the pavement for your morning runs, consider adding the Lululemon Energy High Support bra to your workout wardrobe. Our testers praised the bra for its smooth fabric, seamless modern look, and found that the bra was comfortable enough to wear all day. We suggest opting for an in-store or virtual fitting appointment to help you find the best fit. Read the full review.
We love Lululemon Align leggings because of how durable and comfortable they are. They’re made of the brand’s Nulu fabric, which is 81% nylon and 19% Lycra elastane, and feels like a second skin. Our tester has 12 pairs in her collection of athleisure and they’re all still in near-perfect condition after hundreds of wears and washes. Lululemon impresses us with its range of lengths available for those with longer and shorter legs, as well as the variety of colors and prints to choose from. Read the review.
With proper care, a good pair of winter boots will last you a lifetime. Kamik’s NationPlus boot was the best winter boot that we tested this year—it’s rated to keep your feet warm in temperatures as low as -40 degrees Fahrenheit. Our tester found them to be comfortable and they had the best water resistance out of all of the winter boots we tried. They’re rather on the heavy side, but for the protection and warmth they offer, these boots can’t be beat. Read the review.
The Sorel Women’s Caribou Boot won our pick for best winter boot last year, and we’re happy to award it the top prize again this year! After testing ten pairs of boots, the Caribou boot stands out for its comfort and high-quality insulation. Like our top men’s boot winner, is rated to keep your toes warm in temperatures as low as -40 degrees Fahrenheit. These boots also managed to pass a waterproofing test, keeping our tester’s feet dry in four inches of ice water. Read the review.
Looking for a pair of slippers with an attractive design and functionality built right in? Look no further than the Mahabis Classic slipper. Our tester called these the “best pair of slippers that money can buy.” Aside from a plush felt upper with a cozy merino wool lining, the slippers also feature a collapsible neoprene heel that allows you to slip into them as you would a pair of mules. Best of all, the Mahabis Classic can be worn outdoors, keeping you comfortable no matter where you go. Read the review.
Not to be compared to the Ugg Scuffette, the Dearfoams Sydney Scuff slipper won Best Value in our list of the best slippers for women. They’re stylish, made with high-quality materials, and are available in nine different colors. Like our top men’s slipper, the Sydney Scuff also features an indoor/outdoor sole, making them ideal for those moments when you need to step out of the house and run errands. Read the review.
A hair dryer is arguably the most important hair styling tool you can own, as it can take your strands from sopping wet to dry and sleek in a matter of minutes. At least, that’s what you can expect with the Bio Ionic GrapheneMX Professional Dryer, the best one we've tested. Depending on your hair type and desired results, its powerful airflow can dry your hair in as little as five minutes and style it in less than half an hour. It’s also comfortable to wield, thanks to intuitive buttons and a lightweight build. Read the full review.
This year, vacuum brand Shark launched its own take on the cult-favorite Dyson Airwrapcalled the FlexStyle. But here’s the kicker: FlexStyle is less than half the price of the Airwrap. The styling kit includes a base tool that acts as a hair dryer on its own as well as several attachments: two 1.25-inch “Auto-Wrap Curlers” to curl in both directions, an oval brush that claims to de-frizz and add volume, a paddle brush that aims to straighten and smooth and a concentrator nozzle that funnels air for better styling control. You can choose kits for straight or coily hair—the latter of which includes a diffuser—or build your own set.
For a designated beard trimmer, you cannot go wrong with the Wahl Lithium Ion+ Stainless Steel Grooming Kit. With it, you can achieve a quick, comfortable, and precise trim, and its long-lasting, rechargeable battery makes the process hassle-free. Read the full review.
Wavy hairstyles are back in fashion, but rest assured: This isn’t the crimping iron of the ‘80s. The Hot Tools Pro Artist 24K Gold 3 Barrel Waver delivers large S-shaped waves after clamping down 3- to 4-inch sections of hair for only five seconds. It also features an easy-to-read digital display that allows you to see exactly what temperature it’s at between 200°F and 450°F. Among the hair wavers we tested, Hot Tools was tops, earning a perfect score. Read the review.
For those that prefer a clean-shaven visage, the Philips Norelco Series 9500 is the tool you’ll want to equip yourself with. It earned the top spot among the best electric shavers we tested because it gives a consistent, close and comfortable shave using its 72 self-sharpening blades that adjust depending on feedback from the tool’s Smart Hair sensor scanning system. Post-shave, the tool continues to distinguish itself with its Quick Clean Pod that makes clean-up a breeze; all you have to do is place the shaver inside and while the pod cleans and lubricates the blades for your next shave. Skipping the barber shop? At-home hair cuts require top-notch hair clippers, and we recommend the Oster Fast Feed ones. Friendly for beginners, the Fast Feed gives a precise, effortless cut on even thick and coarse hair, and it allows you to control how short you want the hair with the adjusting of a lever. Adding to the appeal, this tool feels comfortable to hold and maneuver, and, unlike other clippers, does not feel uncomfortably hot even after 30-plus minutes of use. Read the review.
