Vizio Announces Pricing for P-Series 4K TV Lineup

This morning, Vizio announced the full pricing and availability of its much anticipated P-Series 4K TV lineup.
The P-Series is available now for pre-order in 50-inch ($999), 55-inch ($1,399), 60-inch ($1,699), 65-inch ($2,199), and 70-inch ($2,499) iterations. Expect to see them at retailers like Best Buy, Amazon, and Wal-Mart in the next few months.
Each of the P-Series TVs features full 4K (3,840 x 2,160) resolution and Vizio's VIA+ (Vizio Internet Apps Plus) smart platform. The most exciting feature here, however, is the full-array local dimming on each model.
Full-array local dimming (FALD) is a backlight technology usually only available in very high-priced televisions. FALD-equipped TVs turn individual backlight LEDs on and off in time with content, creating more shadowy blacks alongside brighter highlights.
Vizio claims that the TVs will feature up to 72 local dimming zones, though that is likely only the largest sizes. Each P-Series TV is also compliant with the latest 4K standards, including HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2.

Seamless second-screen interactivity through Netflix and YouTube allows users to search for content on the corresponding app on their Android and Apple iOS mobile devices. When the TV and device are on the same WiFi network, consumers can simply click to play the content on the big screen, controlling playback on the TV from their device. VIZIO Internet Apps Plus features a multitude of popular apps like YouTube, Hulu Plus, iHeartRadio, Spotify and Pandora, among others.
