iRobot just pulled off its biggest portfolio expansion in years, and it included a very interesting surprise. On July 7, 2026, the company announced six new products, its widest release yet.

We've spent years testing Roombas, from the j9+ to the Combo Essential, so we know what a real upgrade looks like versus a marketing refresh. And one of the biggest surprises? iRobot has brought a brand-new product category with the Roomba Electro Plus and a full refresh of the Roomba robot lineup.

Meet the Roomba Electro Plus: iRobot's first non-robot cleaner

Credit: iRobot

Roomba Electro Plus is a first-of-its-kind, cordless, user-operated 5-in-1 cleaner. It vacuums, mops, and disinfects hard floors in a single pass, using nothing but tap water. Electrolyzed water technology turns that tap water into a disinfecting solution that kills 99.99% of bacteria, viruses, fungi and germs, with no added chemicals and no steam required.

The PowerSpin roller mop self-cleans as it works; Dirt Detect adjusts cleaning intensity based on how messy a spot is; an anti-hair wrap system keeps maintenance low, and the ThermaClean dock washes, sanitizes, and dries itself after every run.

It's iRobot stepping outside robots entirely for the first time, genuinely new territory for a company that's spent 24 years selling machines that clean on their own, not tools you push yourself.

The new Roomba robot lineup

The other five new products are Roomba robots, and they share a common thread: LiDAR navigation and PrecisionVision AI are now standard across the entire lineup, not reserved for the flagship.

Roomba Max 775 Combo Robot

iRobot's most advanced robot to date brings 4x more power-lifting suction than the previous generation. ClearView Pro LiDAR builds a 3D map of the home, detects pet zones and adapts automatically to messes, while PrecisionVision AI is built to recognize obstacles like cords, shoes and even pet waste. The self-cleaning PowerSpin mop heats water to 167°F for streak-free results, and dual anti-tangle brushes keep pet hair from wrapping around the brush. It runs for up to three months before anyone has to touch the dock.

Standardized LiDAR mapping was missing when the Combo 10 Max landed as iRobot's previous flagship in our 16 Best Robot Vacuums and Mops of 2026 ranking, which makes the Max 775 the model we're most eager to test ourselves.

Roomba Max 715 Vacuum Robot

For anyone who'd rather skip the mop entirely, the Max 715 is vacuum-only but keeps the same 4x suction boost. An enhanced anti-tangle brush handles pet hair, and it shares the Max 775's ClearView Pro LiDAR and PrecisionVision AI for mapping and obstacle avoidance. The AutoEmpty Dock self-empties into odor-control AllergenLock bags, so it can run up to three months without anyone lifting a lid.

This split between combo and vacuum-only options echoes the i7+ and j7+ era we covered in our 7 Best Roombas of 2026 ranking, back when standalone vacuums still had a loyal following among people who'd rather mop by hand.

Roomba Plus 575 Combo Robot

The Plus 575 is 46% more compact than the previous generation, small enough to climb thresholds up to 35mm and get under furniture that used to stop robots cold. It delivers 3.5x stronger suction and SmartScrub technology for twice the scrubbing depth on stuck-on messes. Dual-line LiDAR and PrecisionVision AI handle the mapping and obstacle-dodging, and the AutoWash Dock auto-dispenses cleaning solution, heat-washes and dries the mop, and empties debris on its own for up to three months.

Roomba Plus 515 Combo Robot

Built for bigger homes, the Plus 515 runs up to 295 minutes on a charge, about 10 hours, and covers roughly 2,000 square feet before it needs to recharge. DualClean pads spin at 180 RPM and pair with SmartScrub for dried-on spills, then lift automatically before crossing carpet and hot-wash and hot-dry themselves at 167°F and 113°F. Dual-line LiDAR keeps the mapping precise even across a larger footprint, and it's still 46% more compact than the model it replaces.

Roomba Plus 415 Combo Robot

The 415 is the entry point into the new lineup, and it doesn't cut the features that matter to get there. It's 46% more compact, delivers 2.8x stronger suction, and uses the same DualClean mop pads and SmartScrub technology as its pricier siblings. Dual-line LiDAR handles navigation, the pads heat-dry at 113°F, and the AutoWash Dock keeps it running hands-free for up to three months.

We praised the Combo Essential for proving iRobot could build an affordable hybrid without cutting corners, and the 415 looks like its natural successor, this time with LiDAR and a compact redesign built in.

What we're excited to test

The headline change across this lineup is that LiDAR and PrecisionVision AI are no longer flagship-only features. That's the mapping gap we've called out across our robot vacuum coverage, and now it's standard from the entry-level Plus 415 up through the flagship Max 775. We're also curious whether the redesigned AutoWash docks are quieter to live with day to day. Self-empty noise was one of our few complaints in our j9+ review, and it's worth confirming whether the new docks run cooler and clean themselves more efficiently.

Then there's Electro Plus. Commercial-grade disinfecting with just tap water is a bold claim for a first-generation product in a category iRobot has never touched before. We're looking forward to testing whether it holds up in a real kitchen with real messes.
