Earlier this year we brought you a list of the very best meat subscription boxes delivering in the U.S. As the coronavirus changed the landscape of grocery shopping, many people turned to online options to have their groceries delivered or simply outsourced to companies shipping from around the country. Quickly, many people signed up for meat subscription boxes, overwhelming production, and causing waitlists for the most popular boxes and products.

One of the best parts of choosing to have meat or seafood delivered is that you can often find higher quality cuts of meat than you might find in your local grocery store. You can also find more luxurious products, like Wagyu beef and lobster, that aren’t always easy to get your hands on. Whether you’ve spent the lockdown upping your cooking game and are ready to tackle some fancy new meals or are simply looking for a constant supply of quality ground beef, these are the best meat subscription boxes that you can order right now.

1. Crowd Cow

Crowd Cow has every type of meat and seafood you could want.

An extremely popular meat delivery service, Crowd Cow sources meat from over 100 farms in 23 states across the U.S. The meat and seafood offered from this company, which was founded in 2015 in Seattle, claim to be high-quality, sustainable, and shipped in eco-friendly packaging. Plus, we tried it, and we loved it.

With Crowd Cow, products can be ordered à carte or as part of a larger, pre-selected or customized package. Starting at $99, we think the Custom Box is the perfect place to start with Crowd Cow. Using this option you can select exactly what products you want, including Japanese Wagyu, Icelandic Arctic Char, thick-cut bacon, filet mignon, and more. Or, if you want something you can just add to the cart and order, the $148 Grill Master box has bone-in ribeye steaks, pork chops, hot dogs, ground beef, and top sirloin steaks.

Get juicy meat sent straight to your home from Omaha Steaks.

During the first few weeks of my quarantine in NYC, my boyfriend’s mom started sending assortment boxes from Omaha Steaks—and honestly it was an exciting change to our lockdown diet. Around since 1917, “America’s Original Butcher” ships tons of types of meat and seafood that can be ordered individually or in pre-selected packs. They also offer sides, desserts, seasonings, and wine. Basically everything you need for an entire meal.

One great thing about Omaha is that it offers plenty of different price points to choose from. The $149 Ultimate Gourmet Assortment has a little bit of everything: filet mignon, top sirloin, pork chops, jumbo franks, some seafood, plus seasoning, sides of potatoes, and caramel apple tartlets. For $84.99, have the perfect at-home date night with a steak and wine combo, or order everything you need for the perfect weekend of grilling with the Grand Grilling Assortment that includes filet mignon, chicken breasts, pork chops, burgers, franks, sausage, and more.

Butcher Box has high-quality beef, pork, and chicken you'll love.

ButcherBox puts a lot of time and energy into the meat it sources. All of its meat is humanely raised without antibiotics or hormones. ButcherBox experienced high demand at the beginning of the summer, so customers were promoted to join a waitlist before being able to order anything from the site. However, it now claims to be operating “business as usual.”

Customers can create their own custom box or choose a pre-designed box of all beef, beef and chicken, beef and pork, or a mixed box with all three. The mixed box, billed as the most popular, starts at $129 for eight to 11 pounds of meat shipped every four weeks. And if that’s not enough, easily add on extras like a pack of bacon or chicken breasts, to be prepared for every meal.

Some of the boxes that are available for order right now include the $127 Butcher’s Choice Box, with two dry aged steaks, two pork chops, a pound of ground beef, a pound of bacon, and a monthly, seasonal selection. There’s also the Stay at Home bundle, with ground beef, ground pork, italian sausage, and breakfast sausage, and the Beef and Pork Basics Box, with dry aged sirloin filets, pork chops, ground beef, and ground pork.

Carter Country Road's Big Horn Boxes give three different grades of meat to ensure you have a little bit of everything.

According to the folks at Carter Country Meats, the process involves old-school butchery that uses the whole animal so nothing is wasted. “Our goal is to create a new food model that incorporates our regenerative land and ranching practices with sustainable delivery options to deliver the highest quality beef directly to your doorstep,” the company says on its website.

Starting at $110, customers can select Big Horn Boxes that are five, ten, or 20 pounds, which include a variety of high-quality meats based from three categories. Tier one makes up 15% of the box with cuts like filet mignon and 45-day dry aged ribeye tomahawk. Tier two, representing 35% of the box, includes secondary muscles and steaks, like top sirloin and flank. Tier three, making up the last 50%, includes items like hamburger patties, sausages, stew meats, and even dog treats.
