While throwing some steaks and burgers on the grill and knocking back some cold ones with your buddies is one of the best ways to spend a long summer weekend, cleaning the char and grit off the grill is not.

We already have robots that vacuum our floors and beat us at chess, so it probably shouldn't be a surprise that something like the Grillbot exists.

Armed with a trio of rotating brass brushes, the Grillbot dances around your grill while scraping away all the grease and grime that has built up from your meat-searing celebration. Once Grillbot is done, the brushes can be detached and thrown in the sink for easy cleaning. They're also dishwasher-safe if you feel like doing even less work.

Made of heat-resistant plastic, the Grillbot can supposedly withstand temperatures up to 250ºF. This means you should let the grill cool for a little bit before deploying the robot. Running it is as simple as setting a timer and walking away. Grillbot will tell you when it's done.

The Grillbot was shown off at CES 2014 earlier this year, and we encountered it again at the 2014 International Home and Housewares Show in Chicago. The base model was powered by six D batteries and cost $99.95, but it looks like that's either no longer available or has been discontinued. Grillbot's shop only has the latest model available, which can be recharged via AC Adapter, but costs $129.95.

Whether that price is worth it is up to you to decide. If you're looking forward to some backyard beef burning in the coming months but can't be motivated to clean and prep the grill, this might be a worthy investment.
