It may seem daunting to set up your Emerson Sensi Touch WiFi Thermostat with Alexa, but it’s actually a simple process that only takes minutes.
1. Download the Sensi app
Install the Sensi app on your iOS or Android device. Create a Sensi account using a valid email address and a strong password. This is a required step in order to successfully set up and control your thermostat with Alexa. Once you’re logged in, register your Sensi smart thermostat in the Sensi app.
2. Download the Amazon Alexa app
Start downloading the Amazon Alexa app and log in to your Amazon account. And, before moving on to the next step, make sure your Echo speaker is set up and ready to use. Alternatively, you can access Alexa to control your smart home using the Amazon Alexa app you just installed.
3. Connect the thermostat with Alexa using an iOS device
If you have an Android device, skip to the next step.
Go back and open the Sensi app and select the person icon > Smart Integrations > Amazon Alexa. Then, sign in to your Sensi account and tap Link. You’re all set to begin controlling your Sensi smart thermostat using Alexa.
4. Connect the thermostat with Alexa using an Android device
If you have an Android device, tap on the three vertical dots in the Sensi app. After selecting Amazon Alexa, you will be redirected to the Sensi Skill in the Alexa app. Click Enable to plug in your Sensi login credentials.
After typing in the email address and password associated with your Sensi account, tap Sign In. A confirmation alert should appear letting you know that Alexa has successfully connected to your Sensi smart thermostat. Next, tap the X in the upper righthand corner of the app to make the Discover Devices text box appear. This means that the Alexa app is searching for your smart thermostat; a necessary step in order to link the two gadgets together in order to use Alexa voice control.
Once Alexa is done discovering the thermostat, a message will appear that says, "Discovery Complete." You should see a full view of all of your Alexa-connected devices including the Sensi smart thermostat. The setup process is complete.
5. Using Alexa to control your Sensi smart thermostat
Now that you’ve successfully linked your smart thermostat with Alexa, you can start using Amazon’s voice assistant to do things like adjust the temperature and turn the thermostat and off. You can say things like, “Alexa, set house to 68 degrees,” or “Alexa, what is the house set to?” You can also use Alexa to control the power of your thermostat via commands like, "Alexa, set the house to off," or "Alexa, set the house to on."

4. Using Google Assistant to control your Sensi smart thermostat
Google Assistant is more conversational than Alexa, so you don't have to worry about getting any specific commands or phrases down pat in order to control your Sensi smart thermostat with Google Assistant. Do you need a smart thermostat?
Being able to turn the heat on while you’re still under the covers on a chilly winter morning is one of life’s most underrated pleasures. On the flip side, using smart voice assistants to turn the air conditioning on when you’ve got the oven cranked up saves you the trouble of having to leave the room and do it yourself.
Smart thermostats also have a companion app that gives you full control of your thermostat from anywhere. This is particularly beneficial if you’re not near your smart speaker. For example, if you leave for vacation but forget to adjust your thermostat, that’s no problem, because you can do so right from the smart thermostat’s app.
Convenience aside, there are other reasons you might be happy with a smart thermostat. For starters, smart thermostats can help you save money on your electric bill. With a smart thermostat like the Emerson Sensi Touch, you can set a schedule for when you'd like the air to run at certain times and days of the week. This helps keep your home at a comfortable temperature without constantly having to run your home’s heating or cooling system when no one is home.
