What's new from IFA 2026: Reolink OMVI 2i Ultra

IFA is one of the world's biggest consumer electronics shows: think CES, but held every September in Berlin, where major brands showcase their biggest launches of the year.

That's why Reolink came to IFA 2026 with announcements aimed at addressing the biggest headaches in home security cameras: wires, dead batteries, monthly subscription fees, and reliable, clear footage. Leading the charge is the new Reolink OMVI 2i Ultra, a camera built to tackle all four at once.

Reolink OMVI 2i Ultra goes completely wire-free

The OMVI 2i Ultra is Reolink's grand reveal at IFA 2026, the newest addition to the award-winning OMVI series, and the first model in that lineup to cut the cords entirely.

No drilling power line holes and snaking them through tight spaces. Reolink designed its newest device to address the two complaints that most often come up with wire-free cameras: charging is a hassle, and visibility is limited.

Solar-powered, no outlet required

Clean energy is the key to its power. A built-in 6W solar panel, paired with Reolink's SolarEase technology, keeps the OMVI 2i Ultra powered with 30 minutes of direct sunlight per day, even in low light or in a partially shaded spot. Reolink says SolarEase delivers 26% higher charging efficiency from the same amount of sunlight than a standard solar panel.

Dual-view coverage with SyncTrack auto-tracking

What gives Reolink a better view? Two lenses working together.

An 8MP wide-view camera captures a wide shot of your vantage point, while a 5MP pan-tilt camera monitors a second angle and locks onto whatever the wide lens detects.

Reolink calls this SyncTrack, and it's why the camera doesn't lose track of a person or car the moment they walk out of the wide shot. The pan-tilt camera swings a full 355 degrees horizontally and tilts 50 degrees, auto-tracking the target the whole way.

You can also tap anywhere in the wide-angle view in the app and send the pan-tilt camera straight to that spot.

Battery life that lasts months, not days

Most wire-free security cameras measure battery life in weeks. The OMVI 2i Ultra's detachable 10,000mAh battery is rated for up to 6 months on a single charge. And because it's detachable, swapping in a charged one takes a minute instead of unmounting the whole camera. Paired with the solar panel, it's not something you need to keep checking on just to make sure it's working.

Storage that stays on the camera

The OMVI 2i Ultra also supports up to 512GB of local storage, so your footage is saved right on the device instead of depending on a cloud plan.

ReoNeura™ AI and the Home Hub 2

The OMVI 2i Ultra isn't the only headline out of IFA. Reolink also showcased ReoNeura, its on-device AI engine that processes smart detection locally rather than routing everything through the cloud.

Most security cameras charge a monthly fee because someone else's servers do the work of distinguishing real threats from passing cars and stray cats. ReoNeura does that same sorting right on the camera or hub, so there's no cloud subscription. It also means the footage you're using to keep yourself secure stays that way. It never leaves your property to sit on a stranger's server.

Reolink also announced Custom AI Detection, a new feature that lets you define and train the on-device AI to recognize a scenario specific to your own property, like a side gate that's supposed to stay shut, and get an alert only when that happens. It debuts on the Home Hub 2, launching this fall for $199.99, through a firmware update coming later this year. Reolink says the feature will eventually expand to select standalone cameras in its lineup too.

The Home Hub 2 itself connects to up to 8 Reolink cameras, stores 16TB of footage, and lets you search recordings the way you'd search your photo album: by typing what you're looking for in plain language, not scrubbing through hours of footage.

Reolink TrackFlex WiFi brings the same smarts to a wired camera

The OMVI 2i Ultra wasn't the only camera Reolink brought to IFA. It also expanded its TrackFlex line with the TrackFlex WiFi, a wired camera built around the same two-lens idea: one lens for the wide view, one that pans and tilts to track whatever moves. It's built for anyone who'd rather plug into an outlet than think about batteries or sunlight at all.

The TrackFlex WiFi connects via faster Wi-Fi 6, covers a 270-degree detection field, and uses AI to tell people, vehicles, and pets apart, so you get fewer pointless alerts. It's set to launch in Q4 2026 for $199.99.

The OMVI 3i: available now

The OMVI 2i Ultra and Home Hub 2 are both coming this fall, but if the OMVI series already has your attention, the Reolink OMVI 3i PoE & WiFi is already on shelves. It launched back in June 2026 and is a great entry point into the OMVI ecosystem. You get the same dual-view coverage and subscription-free AI detection.
