The Cosori Iconic is a smart countertop air fryer powered by a DC motor that circulates heat more precisely than traditional AC models, which helps deliver even browning and consistent crisping. The PFAS-free ceramic nonstick basket is genuinely impressive. Food releases easily, and even after multiple cooks, most residue is wiped away with warm water and a sponge.

The exterior is primarily brushed stainless steel with a tempered glass control panel and minimal visible plastic, giving it a more refined look than most air fryers. Once connected to the VeSync app, you can monitor cooking progress, adjust time and temperature, access guided recipes with preset settings, and enable voice control through Alexa or Google Assistant.

Crisping performance is consistent and reliable

Nuggets crisped up as well as McDonalds

During a full week of testing, I used the Iconic to cook chicken breasts, frozen fries, onion rings, and turkey patties and nuggets, as well as quesadillas and fresh-cut veggies, and to reheat leftovers.

Oversized Costco chicken breasts required trimming to ensure optimal airflow, but once trimmed, they browned evenly and stayed juicy inside. Frozen fries and nuggets developed a golden exterior with a noticeable crunch, honestly better than McDonald's. Quesadillas crisped evenly without smoking up the kitchen. Leftover empanadas regained flakiness rather than turning soft.

Airflow was mostly balanced across batches, and I did not have to constantly adjust time or shake the basket to compensate for uneven heat.

It actually earns a place on the counter

Most air fryers feel temporary. The Iconic feels intentional. The brushed stainless-steel body and tempered glass control panel give it a presence similar to a KitchenAid stand mixer. It looks like something designed to stay out on display, not something meant to be stored away. The flush touch controls are easy to wipe clean and prevent debris from collecting around raised buttons. For anyone who has avoided air fryers because of how they look, this model shifts that conversation.

The nonstick surface is impressively easy to clean

The ceramic-coated basket wipes clean with minimal effort. After multiple cooks, the residue lifted easily with a dry paper towel. I can't imagine needing more than warm water and a sponge to clean it. While dishwasher-safe, I still haven't needed to throw it in. Cleanup takes minutes, and makes regular use feel manageable rather than tedious.

It does not significantly impact indoor air quality

When I cook at high heat on my stovetop, my air purifier often alerts me to a sharp drop in indoor air quality. During multiple cooking sessions with the Iconic, I monitored the same purifier. Air quality dipped only about 10 percent, which is significantly less than when pan-searing or broiling in the oven.

For apartment dwellers or kitchens without strong ventilation, that difference matters.

The VeSync App lets you view tips and tricks and control your air fryer all in one place.

Connecting the Iconic to the VeSync app took less than five minutes. Through the app, you can monitor cooking progress, adjust time and temperature, access guided recipes, view nutritional breakdowns, scan select packaged foods for recommendations, and activate voice assistant control. Note: You cannot start cooking from the app. You must press start on the unit itself—a deliberate safety feature.

For someone accustomed to cooking by feel rather than presets, the app acts as a helpful guide rather than a smart gimmick.

What we don’t like

There is a short break-in period

On first use, there was a noticeable new-appliance smell. Running the unit empty at high heat for 30 minutes mostly resolved the issue. However, it took two to three uses for the odor to completely disappear.

Stainless steel requires maintenance

The brushed stainless steel looks great, but it shows fingerprints. That comes with the territory. Keeping a microfiber cloth nearby has made it easy to wipe down, but I find myself doing so after most uses to maintain that polished look.

It is priced at a premium

At $249, it costs more than many standard air fryers. And while less expensive models may cook food similarly, what sets this Cosori apart is the combination of airflow precision, build quality, design refinement, and a five-year warranty.

Warranty

Cosori backs the Iconic with a 5-year limited warranty, which exceeds typical coverage for most air fryers.

Should you buy the Cosori Iconic 6.5-Quart Smart Air Fryer?

Yes, especially if you have avoided air fryers because they felt cheap or visually intrusive

A whole meal made with a single device.

The Cosori Iconic (available at Amazon) combines consistent crisping performance, easy cleanup, quiet operation, smart guidance, and premium materials in a design that looks intentional on a countertop.

Buy this air fryer if you want reliable results without heating a full oven, care about indoor air quality, prefer stainless steel over plastic, and want an appliance that looks as good as it performs.

For traditional cooks who have been skeptical of the category, the Cosori Iconic makes a compelling case that air frying need not feel like a compromise.
