Fitness trackers and smartwatches like the Oura Ring, Fitbit Charge 6, and Apple Watch are great for tracking your health, but they’re also beneficial for helping you monitor and improve your sleep. We’ve tested plenty of health trackers and think these are the best fitness trackers that track sleep.

The Oura ring 3 is one of our favorite sleep trackers. Oura simplifies your sleep data by turning it into easy-to-understand metrics like “readiness” and “recovery” scores that reflect your expected energy levels based on your recent sleep and activity.

It tracks your time spent in each sleep stage, the amount of time it takes you to fall asleep each night, and your “sleep efficiency,” which measures how much time you spend sleeping. Oura also analyzes your data, tracks your conditions and habits, and gives you tips to help improve your sleep, such as ideal bedtimes, activity levels, or meditation habits.

Some people may prefer to wear a ring while sleeping rather than a watch, as the former is almost unnoticeable, and of all the fitness rings on the market right now, including the Evie Ring, we think the Oura Ring 3 shines.

The Charge 6 is one of our favorite all-around fitness trackers. It’s great for monitoring and improving your sleep. It tracks time spent in each sleep phase, heart rate, and estimated oxygen variation, which can indicate breathing disturbances while you sleep.

Fitbit can also set your bedtime routine and send you nightly reminders when it’s time to wind down. It also has a “smart wake” alarm that sets your Fitbit to vibrate 30 minutes before your alarm sounds for a gentler morning wake-up.

You can set multiple bedtime routines, sleep goals, and alarms straight from your wrist. You can also use the sleep focus mode, which limits notifications and distractions to help you get your beauty sleep.

If you don’t want to spring for the Series 9, the Apple Watch SE is another stellar smartwatch option. The SE has many of the same quality features as the Apple Watch, but for a lower price. We love how integrated the sleep tracking features are with the SE—and your iPhone, for that matter—as they make it easy to keep tabs on your sleep habits.
