I used to think that a clean, kid-friendly car was an oxymoron—at least in the case of my car and my daughter. Despite my best efforts, my car was always dirty. Piles of shoes accumulate by the back seat, toys get left behind, and don’t even get me started on the snack crumbs.

No matter how many towels I put over my daughter’s lap when she noshes on her snack, little pieces of raisins and crumbled Goldfish crackers end up in the little crevices of the car seats that are impossible to get to, and they end up setting up residence in my car.

My weekly trip to the super-powered vacuum at the local gas station that costs 25 cents a minute was not cutting it. And the way my car’s seats are designed, the indents are just deep enough to hold annoying crumbs while being too deep for my fingers to grab the debris with a tissue. From tracked dirt to remnants of a fast-food lunch (don’t mom-shame!), my car was constantly dirty. Yes, I know there are bigger problems in the world, but gosh darn it—I want to have a clean car!

Finding the perfect mini vacuum—that actually works

The cordless Brigii mini vacuum cleaner can both suck up small debris and blow away dust.

I have tried every goop and contraption that I could get my hands on, but I always found some sort of flaw. I would accidently leave the mini-vacuum charging in my home or my daughter would get into the dust cleaning gel and play with it like slime.

Thanks to the internet spies that live in my computer, one day my screen presented a perfect solution to my dirty car-woes: the Brigii mini vacuum cleaner. The reviews looked promising and it appeared that I could return it if I hated it. I figured it was worth a shot. My car can’t get any worse by using it, right?

The mini vacuum arrived already assembled, which is already a win in my book. It has a sleek design and is shaped more like a large energy drink than a vacuum—a perfect shape to fit inside my car’s cup holder while it charges via a USB cord and my car’s charging outlet, so I never run out of juice.

This vacuum is small but mighty, and I now use it literally every day.

The Brigii vacuum is also cordless, comes with differently shaped nozzles, and means business. It has a powerful suck, and it has different attachments that are small enough to get inside the itty bitty sections of my 5-year-old daughter’s car seat. Even she can figure out how to vacuum her own car seat mess using the Brigii.

Plus, it is not an eyesore. It is small enough to keep inside my glove compartment and is simple enough to whip out at the sign of an inevitable snack spill.

Since the first time I tried out this gem, I was smitten. I get such instant gratification zipping up some tracked dirt or spilled cereal in an instant. This vacuum is small but mighty, and I now use it literally every day.

What can the Brigii pick up?

The Brigii mini vacuum cleaner is easy to charge with a USB cable.

This little machine can pick up almost any form of everyday debris. From cookie crumbs to tracked sand from a beach day, the Brigii can handle it all.

Since it is on the smaller side and the nozzle isn’t extremely wide, this vacuum unfortunately won’t be able to pick up larger items. Wrappers and small toys still have to be picked up by hand and thrown away in your trash can.

What I wish it could do better

This vacuum is small but mighty. But with the smaller size comes some drawbacks. Since the debris holder has to fit inside the tiny vacuum, it is small as well and fills quickly, which means lots of emptying.

If you are expecting the Brigii to replace traditional vacuuming, think again. While you certainly can use it to clean every square inch of your floor mats, it will take a long time using that tiny hose. I love this tiny vacuum, but it certainly does not replace the need for a more traditional car vacuum for the larger tasks.

Is the Brigii mini vacuum cleaner worth it?

The Brigii mini vacuum cleaner is small enough to store in a glove compartment.

Absolutely. I have tried many solutions to a messy car, and nothing compares to this handy little vacuum. At a modest price (well under $50!), there is little risk in trying it out.

This vacuum helps make small clean-ups as easy as a push of a button (literally), storage can be out-of-sight in the glove compartment, and it helps keep my Type A mind a little more calm in the chaos that is motherhood. It is a worthy purchase for any parent who can’t deal with their crumb-filled car and is looking for a simple solution.
