Here at Reviewed, we’ve tried other cooling blankets and sheets,tower fans, and more, but still fell asleep sweaty and woke up shivering.

Enter: Bedsure’s cooling comforters. These are Amazon fan favorites and offer a few options to explore. So we compared Bedsure's Cooloxy Breathable Cooling Comforter and its SleepEase Cooling Comforter Set—which seem really similar in name but are not at all similar in practice—testing cooling capabilities, design, and ease of use. Here's what we found out while snoozing.

Cooloxy Breathable Cooling Comforter

The Cooloxy Breathable Cooling Comforter comes in gray, white, and blue, and is offered in King and Queen sizes. It features a unique perforated fabric and a targeted 7 cm hollow sweat zone design that claims to offer four times more breathability. The 31% Tencel fill wicks away moisture in 1.2 seconds, and the entire blanket is OEKO-TEX Standard 100–certified.

In contrast, the SleepEase is offered in six different colors for King and Queen beds. The castor fill features 100,000-plus micro air pores and a hollow spiral fiber structure that stays fluffy, soft, and crisp. The polyester and nylon material is treated with a Rudolf Hydrocool treatment to effortlessly wick away sweat and moisture, while the polyester front is soft and patterned. It includes two matching shams and is certified to EU CE-ROHS and OEKO‑TEX Standard 100.

Cooling capability

We were impressed by the cooling capabilities of both comforters, but one stood out above the other. With silky, buttery fabric, the Cooloxy Breathable Cooling Comforter felt ice cold straight out of the package. That carried over into sleep, with the perforated fabric and pocketed sections at the head and feet—the places on the body that get the sweatiest—only aiding the cause. I woke up dry and bright-eyed.

The SleepEase Cooling Comforter Set also impressed us with its cooling capabilities, but it’s a much more balanced cool. It wasn’t enough for some of the hotter nights of testing, but it was great for 65°F nights. It doesn’t have that same crisp, slippery feeling; instead, it feels softer like a traditional comforter, just much more breathable.

Design

The Cooloxy comes in three colors, each of which pairs nicely with traditional décor. The white is a true, cool, vibrant white, which we liked. It features a wave-like stitching pattern that adds a bit of visual intrigue, along with pocketed sections at the head and foot. Still, it doesn’t look as elegant as the SleepEase. It’s thin and sleek, but clearly designed to be functional.

The SleepEase feels more like a traditional comforter, with cooling as an added bonus. It’s fluffier and softer and comes in more color options, each featuring a beautiful pattern and a unique texture that adds a bit of elegance to an otherwise plain white comforter. It felt like something one would see in an upscale hotel. The matching shams were also a nice touch that helped the room look and feel more put-together.

Ease of use

The Cooloxy Breathable Cooling Comforter is ready for use straight out of the box. It comes with a storage bag for easy organization when not in use or for laundering. The comforter itself also has helpful tags denoting the foot, so getting it onto the bed is simple and doesn’t require any of the usual wrangling.

The SleepEase Cooling Comforter Set arrives in a vacuum-packed bag. While it made the package lightweight and easy to carry upstairs, it requires 24 to 48 hours to return to its original fluffiness and air out. If you’re hoping to use it immediately, you’ll be out of luck. This comforter comes as a set with two matching shams, though, so once the comforter airs out, you’ll be all set—no pun intended.
