If you've recently bought one of Sony's excellent A7-series full-frame mirrorless cameras, you've probably been impressed by the camera but left wishing there were more lenses available. Well Zeiss is answering those requests today, announcing a new line of "Batis" FE-mount lenses with one unique feature—OLED screens.
The screens sit where the focus scale normally would be found and can display useful information such as depth of field or the distance of the focal plane from the camera system. Currently, there are two models announced: a 25mm f/2 wide angle and an 85mm f/1.8 portrait lens.
While they might be a little more than what casual photographers need, professionals can use this new feature to fine tune the perfect shots. Pricing hasn’t officially been announced yet—expect them to be on the pricier side—and both lenses will be available for purchase in July 2015 with pre-orders open now.
