3 home security brands connect on a trend at IFA 2026

With data privacy concerns at an all-time high, consumers should feel heard by the home security brands unveiling their latest innovations at IFA Berlin 2026, which ran September 4–8. The show-floor pitch was consistent: Keep it local. Devices process and store their own footage, without charging users a monthly fee.

Reolink, aosu, and eufy each paired new cameras with in-house AI engines built to operate without a cloud connection, relying on local storage rather than a subscription tier. Whether the detection holds up outside a demo booth is a question for later, when we test these products. The direction, though, is a shift from the subscription-first model that has shaped home security cameras for the better part of a decade.

Reolink brings dual-view coverage to a wire-free camera

Reolink's headline product is the OMVI 2i Ultra (and yes, we awarded it one of our best-of honors), which brings the dual-view design of its OMVI series to a wire-free body. An 8-megapixel wide-angle camera covers the full scene, while a 5-megapixel pan-tilt camera watches a second direction, and SyncTrack hands off between them—when the wide lens spots something, the pan-tilt camera (355-degree pan, 50-degree tilt) keeps tracking it past the wide camera's edge. Reolink rates the detachable 10,000mAh battery for six months and says its 6W solar panel can run the camera on 30 minutes of daily sunlight. The OMVI 2i Ultra starts shipping later this fall.

Another Reolink announcement is more interesting. Home Hub 2 is a $199.99 local storage box, shipping this fall, that connects to up to 8 Reolink cameras and supports 16TB of external storage. Its Local AI Video Search finds recorded footage from plain-language descriptions, no cloud plan attached. It all runs on ReoNeura, Reolink's on-device AI, which now adds Custom AI Detection—train it on specifics unique to your property, such as a side gate left open.

Reolink also expanded its TrackFlex line with the TrackFlex WiFi, a 4K dual-lens camera with 270-degree detection and Wi-Fi 6, due in the U.S. on October 20 for $199.99. Aosu ties its cameras together with aosuCortex

We first encountered aosu in January at CES 2026, where we were impressed with its SolarCam T2 Pro, awarding it for its dual 3K cameras, sweeping 170-degree wide-angle view, and 360-degree rotation. Aosu debuted its SolarCam T2 Ultra system, featuring 4K resolution, color night vision, and 360-degree auto-patrol coverage, alongside the T2 Pro this past week at IFA.

Aosu pushed the idea that cameras matter less than how they coordinate, demonstrating the philosophy with aosuCortex, its proprietary connective tissue that handles up to eight mixed cameras, passes tracking from one to the next, and processes it all locally. Aosu claims roughly a 30% lower power draw as a result, which makes a big difference when the cameras run on solar power.

Aosu also added the G11 Suite—four 3K solar outdoor cameras, a doorbell, and a 2K indoor camera—with 32GB of built-in storage, expandable to 16TB. The brand also offered an early look at the R2 Ultra video doorbell.

Eufy, now Anker, puts a 26-TOPS AI chip in the house

Anker used IFA to fold five brands—eufy and Soundcore among them—into two groups, Anker for You and Anker for Home, phasing in as new products ship. Its biggest security announcement was MindBase, a home hub built on a 26-TOPS AI Core compute card running an in-house LLM, paired with EverSafe Memory that expands to 48TB and doubles as network-attached storage.

Anker calls the on-device engine the TrueSmart Agent, which launches with NAS and security agents. EasyOmni Link supports close to 100 Anker devices and hundreds of Matter products, works with HomeKit, Alexa, Google Assistant, and Home Assistant, and moves existing footage off a HomeBase S380.

"We believe the autonomous home needs three things: connection, local intelligence, and memory that stays in the home under the family's control," CEO Steven Yang says. Pricing and availability are still to come, which is the catch.

MindBase's first bundle pairs with the eufy TrackLight Cam S1, the new Video Doorbell S4, and a Smart Security Shield that flags strangers at 15 meters (49 feet) and family/friends at 30 meters (98 feet). The S4 doorbell shoots 3K video across a 180-degree field of view and ships in late September. Anker is currently shipping its four-camera NVR Security System E50.
