This has been another year of adapting and finding our new normal. Home offices are still occupied, but life has gotten back to being busy in a big way, and cooking projects (sourdough from scratch, anyone?) have taken a backseat to juggling dinner prep with homework help and sports practices.

The experts at Reviewed have been hard at work cooking, baking, grilling, and otherwise testing their way through the best products available. Multipurpose appliances like the Ninja Speedi, our new best air fryer, and other multicookers stand out as favorite countertop appliances for helping get dinner on the table faster, while still letting us enjoy a little time in the kitchen.

Best Cookware Set
HexClad Hybrid Perfect Pots & Pans Set (12pc)

HexClad cookware is relatively new to the scene, and its claim to fame is its unique hybrid technology that combines all the features you love about stainless steel with the ease of use of nonstick pans. Our chicken thighs had some of the most even, gorgeous searing out of any skillet we’ve used, and it was exceptionally easy to clean because any built-up bits wiped off easily with a paper towel. Unlike most nonstick, the Hexclad can be used with metal utensils because of its unique laser-etched hexagon top, which also makes it less likely to scratch. These pans contain a magnetic layer, too, so you can use them on induction cooktops. Read the full review.

Pros

  • Suitable for high-temperature cooking

  • Reliably nonstick

  • Oven-safe, dishwasher-safe, metal-utensil-safe

Cons

  • Frequent staining after high temperature cooking

  • Heavier weight with bulky handles

The Weber Spirit II E-310 may be the brand’s entry-level grill, but it didn’t act like a lesser product when it came to performance. It was our favorite grill to use on every test, producing perfect sear marks on up to 18 burgers at a time, evenly cooked chicken, and picture-perfect asparagus. That’s not to say the GreenPan Valencia Pro 11-inch ceramic nonstick skillet doesn't look good—it does—that’s just not its priority. In regular, everyday use it releases all forms of eggs without any sticking, sears meat with excellent color, and cleans up with little more than a quick wipe. Whether you purchase it on its own or as part of the Valencia Pro set, we highly recommend this skillet. Read the full review.

Small pepperoni pizza inside of Solo Stove Pizza Oven outdoors.

Best Outdoor Pizza Oven
Solo Stove Pi Pizza Oven (Wood & Gas)

As a pizza oven, the Solo Stove Pi blew us away during testing. The airflow design is exceptional, using a convection-style technique to distribute heat throughout the vessel that results in tasty, evenly cooked pizza. The pizza stone also heats up quickly and maintains heat exceptionally well. (It hit 780°F after just 20 minutes with the propane attachment, and cooled down and reheated impressively quickly afterward). It's also decently light compared to similar ovens, which means you can easily transport it during a camping trip (or to a friend's house to show it off). Read the full review.

  • Heats exceptionally quickly

  • Cooks pizza evenly

  • Multiple fuel sources

  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Small gap in pizza stone

A designer kitchen featuring the Samsung Bespoke refrigerator
Credit: Samsung
Best in Kitchen Design
Samsung Bespoke

While Americans first heard about Samsung’s Bespoke refrigerators at CES 2021, the electronics and home appliances giant broadened its sleek, custom-design offerings to the rest of the kitchen this year. Finally, consumers have a say in appliance aesthetics, beyond stainless or matte finishes, with the ability to select from panels, in either glass or steel of a dozen different colors, that they can then mix and match across the Bespoke Samsung kitchen suite and even the appliances themselves. Sick of a color after six months? Buy a new panel without having to buy a whole new appliance. Find refrigerators in a few styles, including French-door varieties, bottom freezer, and column fridges. Consumers can also shop Bespoke over-the-range microwaves, ranges, and dishwashers. Bespoke appliances combine Samsung’s trademark SmartThings smart technology with a design look that’s completely different from anything else on the market. Read the full review.

Pros

  • Solid fridge temperatures

  • Flexible-temperature drawer

  • Customizable aesthetic

Cons

  • The custom-color panels are a separate purchase
