Having pets is such a joy, but they do come with their unique challenges. My cats are fluffy bundles of love, but they also seem dedicated to covering every single square inch of my apartment with a thick layer of fur.
As much as we love our pets, they do take a lot of work, and if you want your home to be clean and your pets to be happy, there’s no way of avoiding that work. Sure, caring for pets takes work—but this year’s batch of smart gadgets helps lighten the load in a big way. From robot vacuums to smart doggy doors, our favorite pet products of 2025 are all about making daily routines easier for both you and your fur baby.

The Orvis RecoveryZone ToughChew Den Dog Bed is our Best Dog Bed of the year due to its rare mix of comfort, durability, and thoughtful design. Its cushion uses two specialized foam layers, one to evenly support your dog’s weight and another to promote airflow and regulate temperature, so pups stay cozy without overheating. A padded bolster runs around all four sides for added security and lounging comfort. Built for serious chewers, the bonded upholstery cover is so tough that Orvis backs it with a lifetime guarantee, promising a refund if your dog ever manages to tear through it. It is a bed that looks great, lasts for years, and keeps dogs comfortable in every season.

We picked the Primal Pet Gear Double Handle Dog Leash as our Best Dog Leash of the year because it solves problems other leashes ignore. The second handle, set just a foot from your dog’s collar, lets you get control instantly in traffic, on busy sidewalks, or when another dog comes too close. The main handle is there when you want a looser, more relaxed walk. It feels sturdy without being heavy, and the padded grips keep long outings from turning into a hand workout. Even at night, the reflective stitching makes you easier to spot. After testing it, we kept reaching for this one, which is why it landed at the top of our list.
Pros
-
Two handles for extra control
-
Neoprene padding for comfort
-
Durable hardware
-
Reflective stitching
Cons
-
Not intended for small dogs

The Sassy Woof Hands Free Rope Leash makes walks easier without sacrificing style or durability. The rope feels broken-in from the start, making it comfortable to hold, and the reinforced base has withstood dogs who love to chew through leashes. Multiple loops along the top make it simple to adjust for cross-body wear in seconds, no straps or buckles to fuss with. It works just as well for running errands as it does for a long hike, and with all the color options, it is easy to find one that matches your mood.

-
Reinforced base
-
Sold in many colors
-

Airline rules can be a headache for pet owners, but the Sleepypod Air makes them easier to navigate. It compresses to fit neatly under a seat during takeoff, then expands mid-flight so your dog has room to stretch out. For road trips, built-in straps secure it safely in the car, and Sleepypod even crash-tests its carriers for extra safety assurance. Mesh panels keep air flowing and let your pet see their surroundings, while the plush, water-repellent interior is comfortable and easy to clean. When you are not traveling, it folds flat for storage or converts into a cozy bed. The Glacier Silver and Robin Egg Blue color options give it a clean, modern look that matches its smooth performance.
Pros
-
Contracts and expands with ease
-
Includes seatbelt straps for car travel
-
Excellent air circulation
Cons
-
Expensive

Most litter boxes handle cleanup. This one looks out for your cat’s health, too. The Petkit Purobot Ultra uses a built-in camera to track signs of digestive or urinary problems, the kind cats usually hide until they become serious. It can even tell multiple cats apart with facial recognition and logs their weight each time they use it. That data gives you a clearer picture of what’s going on with your pets day to day. When it comes to the actual cleaning, it quietly seals waste without you having to touch a thing. For its mix of innovative design, hands-off convenience, and health tracking, it’s an easy choice for the Best Self-Cleaning Litter Box of the year.
Pros
-
Camera with 180° rotation
-
Identifies health issues
-
Uses AI facial recognition
-
Automatically bags and seals waste
Cons

Other clippers might look the same, but the Epica Pet Nail Clippers easily outperform the rest. The sharp, semi-circular blades give you a clear view of where you're cutting, and the built-in quick guard helps prevent painful mistakes. What makes them stand out, though, is strength. These clippers have no problem slicing through thick, black nails that usually give cheaper tools trouble. The rubber-coated handles are comfortable and easy to control, and the safety lock keeps everything closed when not in use. With a sturdy stainless steel build, two size options, and a lifetime warranty, this simple, scissor-style design proved to be the most reliable clippers we tested.
Pros
-
Especially strong
-
Sturdy
-
Lifetime warranty
Cons
-
May be too powerful for smaller pets

The design is solid and stylish, available in steel or aluminum finishes with colors like black espresso and silver nantucket. There’s even a customizable LED light bar for a little extra flair. In a category full of basic door flaps, this one stood out for giving pet owners actual control without making installation a hassle.

Wisdom Panel Premium is our pick for the Best Dog DNA Kit of the year because it gives you a surprisingly detailed picture of your dog’s genetic makeup without making the process complicated or expensive. It screens for over 200 health conditions, checks traits and ancestry from more than 350 breeds, and even flags medication sensitivities that could matter down the road. The results are easy to read, packed with helpful info, and came back faster than expected. We appreciated how everything was laid out, from family tree to physical traits to predicted adult size. It’s not the flashiest kit, but it is the one that balanced accuracy, price, and clarity better than any other we tested.
Pros
-
Comprehensive database
-
Detailed analysis
-
Good value
Cons
-
Difficult to share data

Tractive’s sixth-gen GPS and health tracker was the most reliable model we tested this year. It delivers fast, accurate location updates, even in live mode, and the newest version adds better battery life, improved LED visibility, and bark detection. The app is easy to use, with subscription tiers that unlock extras like location history and family sharing. Although it's a little bulkier than some other options, the accuracy and responsiveness it offers make the trade-off worthwhile. If your dog tends to slip through a leash or roam too far, this is the tracker you want clipped to their collar.
Pros
-
Connects to multiple cell-service providers
-
Fast and accurate
-
Waterproof
Cons
-
A bit bulky
-
App glitchy or laggy at times
The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser 2390 doesn’t look flashy, but it handled pet hair better than anything else we tested this year. It pulled fur out of upholstery, car seats, and blankets like it was nothing, even on thick dog hair that usually clings for dear life. The suction is strong, and the dirt cup is large enough that you’re not stopping every few minutes to empty it. Battery life is solid too, giving you enough time to clean multiple surfaces in one go. It even picked up nearly all the test dirt on the carpet in a single pass. For a lightweight handheld that punches above its weight, this one easily earned its spot at the top.
Pros
-
Large capacity
-
Useful attachments
Cons
-
Heavy
-
Upholstery brush tough to clean

The Samsung JetBot AI+ is bigger than most robot vacuums, but it earns its size. It cleaned up pet hair with no trouble in our tests and handled dander and fur without getting bogged down. LiDAR navigation helps it move through rooms without crashing into furniture or spreading messes like tracked-in dirt or worse. The self-emptying bin keeps maintenance low, and the SmartThings Pet feature adds an extra layer of convenience. It can send videos of your pets while you are away and even play calming music for dogs. If you live with a heavy shedder or want a vacuum that stays out of your way, this one made the most significant difference in daily cleanup.
Pros
-
Excellent LiDAR-based navigation
-
Self-emptying
-
Records video
-
Powerful cleaner
Cons
-
Hefty

The Maytag Pet Pro top-load washing machine and paired dryer tackle one of the most annoying aspects of pet ownership: fur that never seems to come out of your clothes. We tested the washer with clothing covered in Bernese Mountain dog hair, and it used a built-in filter in the agitator to collect all that fur during the cycle. We were impressed by the amount of hair it was able to pull, even from heavily used dog beds. The matching dryer boosts the effect, catching what the washer misses and leaving clothes dry and noticeably cleaner. Stain removal was also above average, and the built-in faucet on the washer is useful for pretreating. Although it's not the gentlest on fabrics, for pet owners prioritizing fur removal, this set did the job better than anything else we tested.
Maytag released a front-load version of this washing machine earlier this year, and it is just as effective.
Pros
-
Catches a lot of pet hair
-
Fast, effective cycles
-
Steam features
Cons
-
Rough delicates cycle
-
Inefficient spin cycle
