These are the best floor cleaners of 2025

Here at Reviewed, we’ve been testing vacuums of all kinds since 2012, so with 13 years of expertise under our proverbial belt, we know what makes a good vacuum. In this case, we know what makes a good vacuum brand too, and that’s German vacuum (and appliance) manufacturer Miele. Did you think I was going to say Hoover? Nope. After reviewing our historical testing data of all the canister and upright vacuums we’ve ever tested, only one non-Miele model has managed to break into the top 10 (for the curious, it was a Dyson), and 14 of the top 20 overall are Miele. Wow.

While Electrolux was the first to bring a robot vacuum to market with its Trilobite in 2001, other manufacturers have mastered the product space in the quarter-century since. In 2025, we think Ecovacs is perhaps the most trusted brand among them—yes, even over iRobot. Ecovacs Deebots generally cost a bit more, but the technology offered is consistently far superior to that of most of its competitors. Ecovacs makes both robot vacuums and robot vacuum-mop hybrids called Deebots. Both styles blend excellent cleaning performance with superior navigational skills, employing LiDAR and sensors with AI.

The Shark PowerDetect feels like the upright vacuum that can handle almost anything you throw at it. It’s powerful, consistent, and great at cleaning along walls and edges where other vacuums struggle. The dual brush rolls dig deep into carpet and pulls fine dust off hard floors, while the anti-hair wrap system keeps long strands from tangling around the brush. It’s not a lightweight machine, but the suction power and smart sensors make up for it. The Ecovacs Deebot X11 OmniCyclone cleans floors and takes care of most of its own maintenance. It vacuums, mops, empties its bin, and washes its roller automatically when it returns to the dock. The suction power is strong, and the navigation is precise enough to handle furniture and tight corners. You can customize room layouts, cleaning zones, and schedules in the app. It is a large and expensive machine, but the convenience is hard to beat if you want true automation. For people who like spotless floors with almost no manual effort, the X11 OmniCyclone is a capable and consistent choice.
