I’m very guilty of buying a lot of products through Amazon, including everything from dog food to face wash. The convenience of having items delivered right to my home in a matter of days is just too good to pass up, and I usually have a cart full of Amazon items waiting at any given time.
In addition to the fast shipping, part of the appeal of shopping on Amazon is that you can buy just about anything on the site, including a lot of products that we’ve tested firsthand and loved. Whether you’re in the market for a new vacuum, pillow, water bottle, or something else entirely, you can get many of our top picks on Amazon, and even better, most of them come with free two-day shipping if you're a Prime member! What more could you ask for?
1. An incredibly powerful cordless vacuum cleaner
Speaking from personal experience, Dyson cordless vacuums will ruin all other vacuums for you—they have enough power to tackle just about any cleaning job, and you never have to search for a plug to use them. In our house, we use our Dyson stick vacuum 95% of the time, only breaking out our upright vacuum when we need to deep-clean rugs.
In our testing, the Dyson V11 Torque Drive Cordless Vacuum was the best Dyson stick vacuum, providing powerful cleaning, great battery life, and awesome features like an LCD screen and automatic suction adjustment. Yes, it’s expensive, but it will make it infinitely easier to clean up both big and small messes around your home.
2. This cult-favorite adjustable memory foam pillow
Whether you sleep on your side, stomach, or back, you’ll love the Coop Home Goods Original Pillow, which came out on top in our best bed pillow testing. These pillows are stuffed with shredded memory foam, which we found strikes the perfect balance of supportive yet comfy, and the best part is that you can open up the pillow and add or remove filling to suit your sleeping style. Each pillow even comes with a ½ pound of extra fill in case you really want to plump it up.
3. A durable, easy-to-use kids tablet
If you’re looking for a tablet for your children, look no further than the Amazon Fire HD 8. We tested it against the best tablets for kids, and it really impressed us with its ease of use, plus we loved all the pre-installed apps and videos. The Fire HD 8 comes with one year of Amazon Kids+, which gives you access to more than 13,000 apps, games, videos, books, and other content, and the tablet is housed in a squishy bumper case that protects the screen if it’s ever banged or dropped.
4. A handy electric can opener
If you’re tired of manually cranking cans open, it’s time to upgrade to the best electric can opener we’ve ever tested: the Cuisinart Deluxe. Is it a glamorous purchase? Not really, but this inexpensive gadget will make meal prep much easier. It quickly and neatly opens cans of all sizes, and its hands-free operation means you can take care of other tasks while it pops your canned ingredients open.
5. Our all-time favorite weighted blanket
Weighted blankets feel like a big, comforting hug after a hard day, and hands-down the best weighted blanket is the Gravity Blanket—yes, the same one that went viral on Kickstarter all those years ago. This blanket comes in several colors and weights, ranging from 15 to 35 pounds, and it has a soft removable cover that makes it incredibly easy to clean (a common woe with other weighted blankets).
6. The best noise-cancelling headphones we’ve tested
Noise-cancelling headphones are a game-changer if you (normally) work in a bustling office or commute on a loud subway. The Sony WH-1000XM4 Headphones might be pricey, but they’re the best noise-cancelling headphones we’ve tested, thanks to their comfortable fit, impressive audio, and ability to eliminate ambient noise. The headphones adapt to both your environment and movement to cancel out sound, and they offer around 30 hours of battery life, so you don’t even have to charge them every day.
7. This high-end air fryer that blows away the competition
Air fryers are all the rage right now, and when we tested the most popular air fryers out there, we were particularly impressed with the Philips Airfryer XXL. Yes, it’s fairly expensive, but it has an extra-large 3-pound capacity that can hold a whole chicken or two bags of french fries. It has five one-touch programs—air fry, bake, grill, roast, reheat, dehydrate, and toast—and it delivered perfectly crispy, crunchy food in our testing.
8. A sleek, powerful smart speaker
There’s no better way to play music in your home than with the Bose Home Speaker 300, which wowed us when we were testing the best smart speakers. It can stream audio over Bluetooth, AirPlay, WiFi, or an auxiliary cable, and you can give it commands via either Alexa or Google Assistant. The audio is crisp and clear, and it was louder than any other speaker we tested—perfect for your spontaneous dance parties.
9. This easy-to-use fitness tracker with a long battery life
There are so many fitness trackers out there today, but our favorite remains the Fitbit Charge 4. It stands out among the best fitness trackers thanks to its attractive design, easy-to-navigate app, and long battery life. This Fitbit automatically detects sustained activity, and it’s water resistant up to 50 meters, allowing you to track your swim sessions. It even offers sleep tracking, which we found was more accurate than similar models.
10. A robot vacuum that handles pet hair like a champ
Robot vacuums are a must-have for pet owners—or anyone who likes their floors to be pristine—and the iRobot Roomba i7+ is the best robot vacuum we’ve tested.
What’s so great about it? Not only does it pick up an impressive amount of dirt, but it has a host of smart features, allowing you to start, stop, and schedule cleanings. It creates a detailed map of your home that allows you to clean only specified areas, and of course, one of the main selling points is that this robot vacuum empties its own dust bin into its base, significantly cutting down on day-to-day maintenance.
11. These top-rated headphones from Apple
There was a time when you couldn’t purchase Apple products on Amazon, but we’re happy to say you can now buy all manner of Apple electronics from the mega-retailer, including the uber-popular AirPods Pro.
In addition to great audio, these wireless earbuds deliver excellent noise reduction and water-resistance, and they’re also the first Apple headphones with swappable silicone ear tips, making it easier to get the perfect fit. The earbuds deliver around 4.5 to 5 hours of battery life per charge, and they can be powered back up in their compact case, which provides multiple recharges.
12. Our favorite streaming device
Many newer TVs have built-in streaming capabilities, but if yours doesn’t, you’re going to need a streaming device to watch Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and your other favorite streaming services. Our favorite streaming device is the Roku Ultra 2020, which gives you access to an impressive selection of streaming services. The Roku menu is easy to navigate, and we love that the remote has dedicated buttons for four major streaming services—Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and Sling.
13. A sleek video doorbell for home security
Video doorbells are an extremely popular security gadget, and according to our testing, the best smart doorbell is the Arlo Essential Wire-Free Video Doorbell. The doorbell gives you a 180-degree field-of-view and records in a 1:1 square aspect ratio, giving you a head-to-toe image of who’s at your door. The camera provides 12x digital zoom, HDR video, night vision, and custom motion zones, and if you upgrade to the Arlo Premier Plan for $2.99 a month, you’ll also get access to 30-day cloud storage, smart alerts that can recognize people vs. animals, and the ability to have people leave messages when you’re not home. Cool, right?
14. A top-rated propane grill for your patio
Grilling season is just around the corner, and of all the grills we’ve tested, the Weber Spirit II E-310 Propane Grill is our favorite. It features three individually controlled burners and porcelain-enameled cast iron cooking grates, and the cart design has two side tables, six tool hooks, and large wheels. When we tested this grill, it delivered picture-perfect sear marks and could fit up to 18 burgers, and we were impressed by the amount of heat it cranked out.
15. This iconic stand mixer that everyone loves
If you ask me, no kitchen is complete without a KitchenAid stand mixer—they’re widely accepted as the best stand mixers (and our testing confirms this, and who can say no to the rainbow of bright colors?
In particular, the KitchenAid Artisan Series Mixers are a worthwhile splurge, boasting a 5-quart stainless steel bowl, 10 speeds, and a tilting head. The mixer comes with a flat beater, dough hook, and wire whip, and the power hub on the front of the unit can be used with 12 different attachments, ranging from a meat grinder to a flour sifter (sold separately).
16. A reusable bottle that filters your water
Go ahead and fill up your water bottle from that questionable water fountain—when you have this reusable bottle from Brita, the liquid will be automatically filtered, removing unpleasant odors and tastes. It came out on top when we tested water bottles thanks to its stainless steel design, which does a great job keeping water cold. We also appreciated its wide mouth, which allows you to easily fit ice cubes inside it. Plus, it comes in a wide range of colors, allowing you to pick the one that best suits your style.
17. The best budget-friendly robot vacuum
If you want the convenience of a robot vacuum without the high price of, say, a Roomba, the Eufy Robovac 11S is the best affordable robot vacuum that we’ve tested. This unassuming little vacuum picks up an impressive amount of dirt, and it’s one of the quietest models you can buy. It also has a thin design that allows it to fit under more pieces of furniture, but because of its low price, it doesn’t come with any smart features and barriers to control where it cleans, but honestly, most people won't need those extra bells and whistles.
18. An amazing espresso maker for latte-lovers
You can make your very own lattes, cappuccinos, and other espresso-based drinks with the help of the Breville Barista Touch, our favorite espresso machine. It may look a little intimidating, but we promise this machine is intuitive and user-friendly. The Barista Touch has an advanced digital temperature controller that produces consistently creamy, smooth, and flavorful espresso, and its easy-to-use LCD screen will walk you through the process of making your favorite drink. It's certainly a long-term investment, but one that will allow you to kick your Starbucks addiction to the curb.
