If you’re shopping for a portable generator, the Honda EU2200i is arguably one of the best you can buy for short-term usage, like during a camping trip or if you want a basic backup power source. Right now, you can buy it for $1,049 at Home Depot. Though it’s not marked as being on sale, it’s actually $100 less than its usual cost of $1,149. That $1,049 price tag is also about $65 cheaper than what this top-rated inverter generator is going for online at other retailers. Specifically, this model is an inverter generator, which is an innovation on conventional portable models that draws power from a direct-current (DC) source, like a car battery, and then converts it into alternating current (AC) electricity. This type of portable generator has a reputation for being quieter than an ordinary one (although you’ll want to note that this is different from a standby generator, which is larger and needs to be installed).
